You know how great it is when you're going to a strange city for the first time but you have a friend of a friend to stay with? And they have a room for you and quickly make you feel at home, and feed you dinner, and advise you about where to go for this or that, and set you... More

I've been to the Mdwaida homestay several times now, and it is a great place to stay in Nairobi. Serah and Ron make you feel right at home, and they can advise you about anything and everything in and around Nairobi. I wanted a short trip to see more of Kenya's amazing scenery in the West of the country where... More

My brother and I visited Nairobi, before and after our safari to the Mara. While in Nairobi we stayed at Mdawida. It is a wonderful homestay. Serah made sure we felt always at home. Her brother Steve is a wealth of information. On our last day in Kenya, we used his services for taking us around Nairobi - he is... More

I highly recommend staying at the Mdawida Homestay! I have been traveling to and from Kenya for more than four years now and have also stayed for extended periods of time due to work, each of which I stayed at the Mdawida's and had a wonderful experience. The Homestay offers a very vibrant atmosphere, which will immerse you into the... More

Zach, I don't know where to begin, the small brother I never had. We have been family for the longest time through thick and thin, through the kids calling you Gack to finally proper pronunciation Zach. We have seen each other through all manner of situations, that is what family is about. Mdawida Homestay is your home, always welcome and... More

I had the chance to stay at the Mdawida Homestay for 4 months, from May to September 2014. I was working at a coffee business around 30 minutes from the homestay. As a student from Canada and as my first time in Kenya (or Africa at all) I was looking for an accommodation that would be as much of a... More

Highly recommended! The Mdawida's are a wonderfully genuine and accommodating family, and their home and neighborhood are comfortable and convenient. Ronnie and Serah are helpful in so many ways, and the food is so good! I want to visit Africa again, since there's still so many countries I didn't get a chance to see. But after my experience with the... More

We stayed at Mdawida Homestay for 3 nights. We had initially booked the double ensuite room for all 3 nights but had to request Serah for a slightly larger room. While the double room is fine for a night, if you are staying longer and with lots of luggage, it may be worthwhile to opt for the studio apartment (just... More

I was a bit worried to travel to Nairobi as I have been told it's dangerous day and night. But I got completely released the moment I saw the big smile from Serah's face. Everyone in the house is so nice, I especially love Serah and Ron's 3 boys - they are so smart and adorable. I enjoy playing with... More

I stumbled across this place on Tripadvisor when I was looking for somewhere to stay my first week in Kenya. Booking was one of the best decisions I have made on this trip. Everyone is very friendly and almost instantly I felt like I was at home. Conversation is always interesting, and Serah and Ronnie can provide you with a... More

The stay here was amazing. I stayed in February and again in April. Everyone was super friendly and helpful when it came to setting me up with a room and helping me get around town. The location is a little far from town, but there are enough shops around that you do not need to go into town unless it... More
