Kahama is a warm and elegant place in the heart of chaotic Nairobi, a place where time seems to stand still. We've been travelling throughout Kenya low budget and were used to very poor accomodation. We chose the Kahama for our final stay in Kenya and were overwhelmed by the contrast. Everything is luxury, very clean and extremely service-oriented! Definately... More

I was traveling through Nairobi on my way to Uganda and had a one night stay here and was absolutely thrilled I booked here. The front staff was incredibly friendly, as were the support staff and restaurant crew. Unbelievable price for money. I know Nairobi isn't the safest place for a Caucasian female, but the front staff had helpful advice... More

I had spent 2 months volunteering in Kenya. i found the Kahama recommended by lonely planet. It was perfect for me. So friendly, clean and the staff went out of their way to help me. To have a bed, shower, toilet and electric light after 2 months was heaven.Thank you so much

In the "Lonely Planet" Kenya, June 2012 the Kahama Hotel is the editors choice for Nairobi - no wonder. The Kahama Hotel is a home away from home. It was a hotel established by a local Kenyan businessman, Mwangi Kirung’o Kahama , (his portrait hangs in the reception) who had a good sense for the atmosphere of a family hotel.... More

The hotel is amazingly quiet and comfortable despite the heavy vehicular traffic just right at the doorstep. We were able to prepare our own coffee in our room and this greatly increased our feeling of privacy. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The only let-down was the absence of bacon at the breakfast table, but that's a small matter. If... More

This was the second time I stayed in the newly renamed Kahama Hotel (previously Kenya International). The service is fine, the staff ('team players') courteous and the rates reasonable compared to the 'big' hotels in Nairobi. While no luxurious place, the hotel provides all the basics and its location is not far from the embassy district which was the aim... More

To get there is a bit tricky with the current road / bypass construction and to be completely honest the hotel does look a bit tired from the outside. However once you arrive to the reception desk things change drastically. A proffesional, polite and efficient welcome, swift check inn and very helpfull staff make the transition from bussling capital traffic... More

Overall a good place to stay. Ongoing road construction has made accessing the hotel rather difficult and unsafe as there is only one entry and exit. One wonders what would happen in case of an emergency. Service is good, food is OK and staff offer warm welcome. Improve on food ala carte portions. Provide mosquito repellent chips or spray. Also,... More
