Two nights and lots to do. Loved the ensuite African-sytled chalet with a verandah facing the forested hill, the hike up through the cedar forest, seeing Sharpe's starling on the canopy of the forest and more. This is the only tract of indigenous forest of cedar left on the escarpment and it's important to manage it well for the forest... More

We spent 2 nights at Malu a couple of weekends ago and it was fantastic. We stayed in the Mahindu Cottage which has a kitchen and the bedroom is separate from the living area. It was the perfect set up for our 16 month old. We could prepare his food and hang out in the living room in front of... More

Stayed at Malu for one night, after a bike-trip through the Hell's Gate park. Raining fiercefully and temperature was 13 degrees when we arrived. Staff was there already to help us (umbrella!) whilst the fireplace was already lit in the Mahindu cottage. Very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Dinner was very nice: italian inspired and welcoming. Cottage was cleaned... More

My 2 sons (age 10 & 18) and I visited Malu this week for 3 days and 2 nights. The first 2 days we spent fishing, we had a guide called Charles who was very helpful and patient and showed us amazing spots to fish and walk. Over the 2 days the boys caught 4 fish. The rooms were in... More

We had a very good time in the Treehouse. What a beautiful view from the veranda and master bedroom, looking staight onto the hippos in the river! The kitchen was well-equiped. We did horseriding, milked a cow and went with a guide around the area. Our guide was very knowledgable about the animals and vegetation and we learned a lot.... More

We stayed there two nights. The environment is amazing and it is one of the best place to rest: something different. Unfortunately some guests are not ready to experience the bush and we saw scenes very unfortunate with the staff. Us we had a great experience, with a nice staff. The manager has worked hard to satisfy all our exigencies.... More

We were very disappointed about the state of the tree house. Not at all what is advertised in the site. Toilet was not working, shower broken, no privacy in one of the bathrooms and rain coming in through the walls. If it rains it is very dangerous to drive down and up the 3 km from the restaurant. Four wheel... More

Malu is a nice alternative to Lake Naivasha. 2.7 kms past the Kobil station on A104 between Naivasha and Gilgil you take a right at the Malu sign. Be careful! You might miss it! Drive about 11 kms into the hills by following the "Malu" signs on a dirt road. My Toyota Corolla made it but a 4 x 4... More

Just returned from a wonderful overnight stay at Malu. The cottages were comfortable and cosy, with plenty of private space for the family to enjoy the peaceful setting. The food was tasty. And the staff were excellent, especially the guide Stephen, who was incredibly accommodating. Thank you for a great weekend.

It was absolutely perfect family day out. All that I could hear was my kids screaming in delight. They went on a horse ride, held a rabbit, fed ducks, geese and chickens, sang Baa-Baa black sheep to sheep, and had amazing ride in a donkey cart. Amazing and tranquil place. We stayed for lunch. The food was very good and... More

Thank you for your kind review of Malu. I am so glad that you enjoyed your trip and we shall work on our value for money expectations for you. We are sometimes stumped by additional costs posted by agents which don't truly reflect the actual costs of Malu that I think are extremely fair and reasonable when taking into account... More
