This hotel is the nearest to the UN Gigiri Compound and many visitors with a tight budjet stay there. The only reason to choose this hotel would be its close proximity to the UN complex. I felt like staying in a dormitory, very basic rooms with no effort whatsoever to make you feel comfortable - curtains falling down, cold floors, very noisy. Cleanliness was OK, but could not make up for the terrible atmosphere. The breakfast was a joke... More

Stayed at China Gardens (hotel side) first week in November 2011. I was in Nairobi for a meeting at the UN Centre, Gigiri. Very convenient and right across the the UN complex. Pros - it is front of UNON, relatively clean, ok if only staying for a few days and you don't care about the quality of where you stay. Cons - Management is unprofessional, no flexibility, rooms without frills, internet connection only works sometimes, hotel rooms are a rip off and noisy. Apartments are very hard to book (months in advance)... More
