Great decor. Great food at their basement restaurant next to the pool. Nice location in the Village Market shopping center. Great architecture ande memorabilia of the Orient and Africa adorn the lobby. First class service. A little on the high side price side but worth a stay or a meal in their elegant restaurant.

Probably the nicest hotel you can choose in Nairobi. Away from the most chaotic parts of the city. Tribe is a "design hotel" which I normally shun since it is often used as an excuse for not having to operate with good service, amenities and other classic values of great hotel management. Tribe is a good exception to this. Great... More

I stayed at the hotel on a business trip to Nairobi. The hotel is convienent to various embassies and the UN Africa HQ. While the staff is attentive, some are not too friendly (about 25% are unfriendly). Compared with Asian (i.e Shangri-la) and European hotel chains, I'm scratching my head wondering how this is a 5 star hotel. I did... More

Great hotel for a coupleday stay in Nairobi for business or pre/after-safari. A few restaurants in this safe area. Very good hotel, excellent staff. Cheap and good SPA. Be relaxed, but prepare for electricity jumps. Lol!

After traveling and staying in hotels all around Africa, Tribe Hotel is truly in a category of its own. Unlike the luxury chain hotels that cater to tourists and business clientele that would prefer to pretend that they are still in Europe or the U.S., Tribe has achieved the perfect balance of luxury, style, and comfort, while at the same... This hotel deserves every one of its five stars. The food is excellent, the accomodation clean and comfortable and the staff are all very polite, attentive and efficient. A recent two night stay during some time working in Nairobi was superb, I particularly enjoyed having a cold beer or three in the comfortable downstairs bar after a busy day and... More

Stayed on the ground floor close to reception, away from the road and the gym. (in the twenties) I was advised by my colleagues that this was for the bet as those rooms where noisy. The food was fantastic, the staff friendly and accommodating. The rooms clean, spacious and in good working order. I had plenty of hot water in... More

I've been going to The Tribe for brunch for 2 years now and I am yet to be disappointed by their Sunday brunch. The menu includes any type of egg your heart desires, an wonderful array of Indian vegetarian dishes, cold cuts, cakes, pastries, waffles, pies, ice-cream, chocolate fondue, fresh fruit and even sushi! On the drinks side they have... More

I'm pleased we did not pay full price for this hotel. Rooms were cramped and the toilet was separated from the bedroom by an ill-fitting shower curtain. Staff were cool and a bit unfriendly. We requested a twin room and were given a double. There was no in room safe and the DVD player did not work. The water would... More
