I stayed at the Wildebeest Eco Camp once in May and twice in July while quickly passing through Nairobi. It seemed like a good choice because it was reasonably priced, well-reviewed, appeared idyllic in photographs, and had an airport transfer service. I have spent a lot of time in Nairobi and would have preferred to stay in Westlands or the... More

We loved our couple of nights here - wish it was longer and would certainly go back. A problem with our booking (we were two couples and one of us had to shift after one night which was not ideal at all) was soon forgotten. Great on-site shop. Meal at night is a smorgasbord type with all other people staying... More

On the outskirts of Nairobi, near a large shopping mall, Wildebeest Eco Camp is nestled amongst peaceful grounds, away from the bustle of the city. With great facilities including good wifi, free breakfast, a good restaurant for lunch and buffet dinner (which was worth the small amount you pay), I can not fault the place. We stayed in the budget... More

I stayed here for one night before going on a safari. Lovely grounds, room and food. Not your typical Nairobi experience, I would say it's posh. About a 30/45 min taxi trip into the city, but close to Sheldrake elephant orphanage, Giraffe centre and Karen Blixen Museum.

On a student budget I was looking for accommodation that was cheap but clean and safe also. Wildebeest popped up on another site I was looking at and the price for the dorms was very reasonable so I decided to book for a friend and I. On arrival we were not disappointed. The dorms were spotless and had an ample... More

The camp just moved, so everything looks new. The pound isnt finished yet, but the sight has all the potential. Showers and toilets are eco friendly, just that there was no water in the late evening and during the night. This was a bit uncomfortable when you arrive late in the evening and have to leave early in the morning.... More

Of the backpacker style accommodations around Kenya, this one by far the best planned and executed. For Nairobi, the quiet natural setting here is rare and appreciated. The food and service is fantastic. Planning some urban camping trips just for the variation from my Nairobi apartment.

My friends and I stayed here twice. We found for its facilities it's pricing was very cheap. We used it as a place to stay just after we arrived at Nairobi airport and just before we left Kenya. it is about £9 to rent a tent or dorm bed, dorm beds are better. The camp offers WiFi with no sign... More

I'm currently spending 5 nights here (3 down, two to go!). Although it's a bit out of town (not a bad thing - it's quiet, and the area's pretty good, with a shopping mall within easy walking distance, and the National Park attractions within a short drive, or longish walk. The tents (I'm in a standard garden tent with very... More

Having booked two nights here because of it's close locality to Nairobi National Park, I can only say I was disappointed with my choice. Firstly though, I am impressed with the De Lux en suite garden tents, they were very clean and tidy on arrival, although they do not tidy or clean the rooms during the stay. The water eventually...
