We booked Junior Suite 54, which was close to the reception and restaurant. The hotel is a little far from downtown Luxor, but can be reached through the new bridge in about 20 minutes. Once you cross the Nile to the west bank you leave the main road, and drive on narrow secondary and, sometimes, dusty roads, through sugar cane... More

we just finished a 3 night stat at the Al Moudira. The hotel is beautiful, unique and relaxing. the food is also excellent. We went with a one year old and knew the hotel did not bill itself as 'family friendly' and on the first day there were some stressful moments trying to get an early breakfast for our hungry... I visited in early November, and on my last night found myself as the only guest. This hotel is an amazing place - I would have sworn it was older (only because of the décor - which I loved) than it is. The service was extremely helpful, the food was lovely. I slept well, my room 50 had an enormous... More

Absolutely loved this hotel - really peaceful and nurturing. The room was enormous and with an individuality and quirkiness that raises the hotel above the usual mass produced places. It is close to the Valley of the Kings and a short taxi ride to the ferry boat over to the East Side. Some people might not like its distance, but... More

On the right bank and slightly out of town, a few km's from Valley of The Kings - we LOVED it. Taxi fares are cheap and they have drivers available with set rates (no rip off) - so we decided not to stay in town where there are rows and rows of 'american/western' style chain hotels along the Nile and... Hard to describe the tranquillity and individuality of this place. Tranquil because unfortunately for them tourists have yet to return. Wonderfully designed quirky hotel really very special. A little below par due to lack of investment as the past few years have been difficult but just an amazing place to stay nevertheless. Staff couldn't do enough to make our stay... More

Luxury in Luxor, not the kind of luxury from big hotel chains, the luxury of time spent in the silence of the desert, the luxury spent between orange flowers, palm trees and bougainvillea, the luxury of seeing beauty, art and love in every detail every time your eyes lay, the luxury of having every room resemble a palace or a... “.. once upon a time there was a place; a place between the green fields, the palm trees of the Nile river and where the endless sand dunes begin; where the mountains seems blue and pink in the evening sun. During the summer nights the desert breeze that moved the palm leafs would still not cool. In winter one would... More

Amazing hotel with stunning décor and fantastic bedrooms. Rooms are arranged around courtyards a la Alhambra in Granada. It is in a quiet location on the West Bank so, unless you take a taxi, you'll have to eat at the hotel(no hardship).

Despite the travel warnings, I really wanted to go to Luxor for my 40th birthday. Al Moudira was perfect for the trip. It was quiet because there are few tourists right now (unfortunately for the hotel and its employees) so we had the run of the place to ourselves. The rooms are so beautiful, the hammam a real treat, and... More
