Hotel was absolutely lovely. We were upgraded to a suite after mentioning the room was a little small for two adults and our son. MASSIVE bed and so comfy!!! I've been to many hotels in England of the same rating and paid more for less. Exceptionally clean considering how dusty Luxor is. Okay, so there's no tea making facilities in... More

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Sonesta St George (3-10 March) and I have to say we had a good time despite the building work that is going on. Our room was on the first floor at the side of the building which meant that we didn't have the best view but we were far... More

This is the last place on earth to stay for a quiet holiday. They are building 3 storey's on the top with the guests below. The noise starts at 9am and goes on till 10pm some nights.Take a hard hat and ear defenders if you are brave enough to stay at this hotel.

We have just returned after one weeks stay and although the hotel is lovely, the staff very good and food also, the building work on some days was intolerable. The work being carried out on the roof was not too bad although we were in a side view room and they were hauling up steel girders, bricks etc by a... More

The hotel was very clean with good room and pool service. The location was within walking distance of restaurants, temples and musuems.Though building work going on, but our holiday went smooth. The breakfast served continental, japanese and Egyptian foods.I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pleasant public spaces, reasonable prices (except for Internet), and a location on the banks of the Nile and near souvenir shops - these are the best features of this adequate but unimpressive Holiday Inn-like hotel. The sometimes helpful staff, rarely tasty food, and often non-functioning facilities are the drawbacks. Our room heat didn't work but the staff quickly rolled in... More

Booked after looking at other reviews and was not dissapointed. Would just like to say however that the hotel is currently building a three storey extension on the top of the hotel. As it is very much local labour there are no heavy machines or scaffolding and therefore it was not too intrusive. Our room was on the 5th Floor... More

OK, so we've had a lot of reviews about the building work, so what - this is Egypt - its somehow refreshing that the Health and Safety lot haven't yet visited this country - OK so part of me says the hotel should have closed for the renovation, but really it did not spoil our holiday - thanks to Trip... Okay, so it wasn't quite Valentines Day (we stayed on the 11 and 12 Feb - went on a cruise then returned for the night of 20 Feb) but I reserve the right for a bit of poetic licence to make my review seem a bit more interesting! My girlfriend and I had the "Nile Romance" package, and it was... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Sonesta between Jan 28th and Feb 4th. I utlised the reviews on Tripadvisor to make the decision on which hotel, as there are many well known hotels all pitching themselves at a similar price bracket. Sonesta was supposed to be one of the top hotels but you need to understand that 5 star... More
