It is very rare for me to write a hotel review but after staying at the Sonesta for 7 days I had to put "pen to paper". The one mistake we made was booking a 2 stage holiday and leaving the Sonesta after one week, in hind sight we should have stayed for the full 2 weeks and made the... More

this is an excellent hotel! It is set on the banks of the Nile, and so if you can, you should upgrade your room so that you have a Nile view. If possible, try to avoid the rooms that face onto the road at the front of the hotel - Luxor is a noisy city! The rooms are immaculately clean... More

This is a good hotel, well run and with good facilities.Provided you ensure that you book a room with a full or partial view of the Nile you will find little to complain about. Sleeping in a room with a city view is only possible if you are lucky enough to be able to turn your hearing aid off at... More

Luxor has long been on our list of places to visit so a combination of the favourable comments about The Sonnesta and a good deal on the internet, we took the plunge and signed up for a late one week break. The Sonnesta lived up to the reviews of previous visitors, but personally, I think its crown as the No... More

We stayed here some time ago but thought that the hotel deserved a positive review based on our 7 night stay there. Everything was just about perfect. There were 3 of us (all male). Our room was quite large, because I think it was on the corner of the building and consisted of a lounge area as you enter through... More

I arrived in Luxor the last week in May. The hotel was excellent and the staff were excellent - everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. My only query was the animal cruelty I had seen on my visits to and from the historical places to visit. There were also horses and carriages that obtained huge cruelty on... More

My husband, eight year old daughter and myself stayed in the Sonesta for 1 week from 25th October 2006 and completely fell in love with Luxor and the hotel. We booked with Portland holidays and chose this hotel on the strength of Trip Advisor comments, which were found to be mostly accurate. On arrival at Luxor airport you immediately get... More

My boyfriend and I had booked to stay in a Nile view room at Le Meridien (for a week), but our travel agent messed up and we were forced to stay at the Sonesta. The reception staff at the Sonesta were largely unfriendly and new to the hotel (there only ever seemed to be trainees at the desk). They repeatedly... More

Just back from our third holiday at the Sonesta. Totally agree with most of the reviews on here, it just cant be bettered and we have checked out most of the other hotels in Luxor. Think the reviewer who said food at this hotel was limited was staying in a different hotel. This hotel has five restaurants and a cafe!... More
