We have just got back from a weeks stay at the sonesta which was very nice apart from one incident which ill talk about later. Hotel’s first impressions were impressive, in the lobby there is a dazzling chandelier, room was okay carpet was a bit worn TV only worked on a few channels which were fuzzy a bit fussy but... More

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Sonesta. It was very hot - reaching 56 degrees around the pool area! It is a great hotel. The staff are very helpful and can't do enough for you. We ate in the japenese, italian and main buffet restaurants and found these all high quality and reasonable prices (about £10... More

Back in May 2006, my husband and I booked this hotel after a recommendation from a friend and after reading the reviews here. We loved this hotel from the minute we entered to the minute we left - there is an indescribable romance about Luxor that this hotel captures and absorbs into its own character while remaining pleasant, modern and... My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at the St. George. Admittedly, we initially had some hesitations about the hotel after having read several negative posts on Trip Advisor, but we didn’t encounter any of those problems during our 8 night stay. The hotel itself was amazing. The lobby is beautifully decorated with marble table tops... More

My husband and I stayed at the Sonesta in Luxor for three nights during a vacation to Cairo and Luxor. We came to this hotel after staying at the pristine Four Seasons in Cairo, and were told this was an accommodation of a similar quality (5-star). We were sorely disappointed. This place was significantly under the caliber of hotel we... More

I have stayed twice at the Sonesta St. George in Luxor, and will begin by saying, that both my stays were not recent, but took place several years ago. I have been to Luxor a lot of times since and know, also from TA, that there is some building going on, which there wasn't on neither the first nor the... More

We stayed here as part of a Cruise/Cairo/Luxor combo with Archers Direct. I suspect people will be worried about the building works. We asked for a quiet room through Archers because we already knew about the works. We got a 1st floor room and were not bothered once by the works, even when we were outside we didn't notice it.... My partner and I stayed here for 4 days at the end of our Nile Cruise. It was far more luxurious than we imagined with a fantastic swimming pool, restaurants, good breakfast and large clean rooms. We were not affected at all by the building works. The pool staff are very attentive and go out of their way to help... More

The hotel decor and standard is exquisite! We stayed in a suite on the 2nd floor on the pool side area where we had a beautiful view of the Nile from our lounge and a view of the city from the balcony outside the bedroom. As a result of previous reviews and advice from this website, we didn't get as... More
