Not been back for three years, but as soon as we stepped out of the taxi, it was as though we'd never been away. Bear hugs from Samir, the bell captain and "welcome home" from all the staff. When we checked in the first question asked was "What room would you like?" We therefore ended up in a top floor... more

My sister, my friend and I stayed at the Mercure Coralia, Luxor from 27th May to 10th June 2009. It was my 20 something time in Egypt, and my sister and friend's 5th and 6th visit. To say we love Egypt is an understatement. It is our "second home" as all the locals enjoy telling us. This was the first... more

I first stayed in this hotel in 1992 when it was called the Etap and returned every year twice and sometimes three times a year, the last 3 years staying for monthly periods but I am sorry to say that I think my latest stay in April will be my last at this hotel it has steadily declined in cleanliness, friendliness and... more

We stayed at the Mercure in Luxor for 4 nights and found the hotel met our needs for a short break in Luxor. The check in staff were efficient and helpful. The pool was clean and nice to relax in during the hot afternoons. We were given a room with two single beds but the hotel changed the room the... more

We stayed at the Mercure Luxor over the Easter break and had a fantastic time! On arrival at Luxor airport we purchased our visas and changed money at the bank kiosks on the left. (Remember to ignor the Thomas Cook reps who were charging $18 for a $15 visa.) We went through imigration and collected our bags easily. After a... more

We stayed there in March 2009 and found the whole experience very enjoyable. On previous visite we have stayed at the Nile Palace and Sheraton and while it's fair to say that the Mercure is not up to the standard of the Sheraton for the money it's very good. The central location makes getting around to most sites very easy... more

It ws terrible having stayed in this hotel. I guess people who have stayed there should be more frank and honest bout their real and true experiences for people planning trips to make informed stay choices. We read the reviews and got carried away by them and honestly, it was a mistake. The staff was not only impersonal and cold... more
