This hotel is positioned extremely well for amazing sun-rise & sunset views of the River Nile. It was also less than 5 minutes walk to the Luxor Museum (a must see) and seconds from a shop that sold large bottles of water cheaper than in the hotel. The hotel staff were enthusiastic and friendly, from the pool to housekeeping. Due... More

This hotel is difficult to rate. It's location is outstanding - right on the Corniche with views to the Nile and the Valley of the Kings etc... However, the hotel is dated and shabby. The bathroom shower (shower over bath) ended up leaking over the bathroom floor regardless of what I tried to prevent it from happening. The power was... More

We stayed here at Easter time and received the warmest of welcomes as always, having stayed here many times since our first stay here in 1990. Occupancy was at about 40 rooms, tragic for such a large hotel. This did not detract at all from our enjoyment. Service was as good as ever, as was the pool. Food was up... More

I have now stayed at this hotel on several occasions and seen a few changes, mostly for the better, what with the refurbishment of many of the rooms. Most now have kettles, hair dryers, flat screen TV's and safes. I remember the days when I had to take my own kettle with me and leave valuables in the reception safe.... More

Have just returned home from yet another fabulous stay at El Luxor hotel.Recieved a very warm greeting from the genuinely nice staff who provide good service. The hotel is in a perfect location over looking the Nile and within easy walking distance of central Luxor,so slightly quieter than the more central hotels. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool set in one... There is one thing that everybody mentions when talking about this hotel, that is how good the location is. Asked for a room with a Nile view , and room 302 was my home for the week. Have been to Luxor before without my husband on a few occasions, and this hotel has friendly staff, and the rooms are very... More

I stayed here for 4 weeks in January (it is my usual hotel). Everything was wonderful as usual, lovely room with bedding & towels changed daily. Breakfast was plentiful as normal with a wide variety of food to choose from. I ate in the hotel on numerous evenings and the food was freshly prepared with a good choice from the... More

Just stayed for one night but very nice, clean rooms. Obviously once a very nice hotel. Now a little let down, probably because tourism as a whole is suffering with Egypt's current situation. The room had a small balcony with view to the Nile. In the early morning you can see the balloons over the desert and the mountains light... More

This was a nice, clean hotel. The lobby is beautiful, all in marble and the pool is amazing as well. The view is of the Nile and the desert behind it. In the early mornings we saw hot air balloons from our balcony. The beds were VERY soft. I enjoyed that but I know some people found them too soft.... More
