Great hotel with central location.Stayed first night in main wing of new winter palace with nile view .The rooms in this wing are quite drab and we felt like we were in a 70's hotel in provincial Britain. The noise from the road was also very intrusive so at least get a garden view no matter how lovely a Nile view... The location of the hotel is superb if you want to be in the centre of things. The hotel was used a lot for people on Nile Cruises and package tourists - which summed up all of Luxor! If this is your cup of tea then you will not be disappointed. The rooms was good, if I was being very... More

Having traveled to Luxor many times before, mostly staying at the Mercure Inn just to the side of the winter palace, and other budget hotels, we decided to splash out a bit more for a more relaxing holiday and stay in a more "upmarket" hotel, Ideally we wanted the Sonesta, but they were adding another floor at the time and... Stayed in a Garden View room at New Winter Palace on 10 September until the 24th September. We booked again this year as we stopped last year and had a good holiday but last year we stayed in a Nile view room and recommend these rooms if you like people watching and seeing the world go by. The Nile rooms... More

I have just returned from one of many trips to Luxor where I stayed again at the New Winter Palace. Egypt as a country, Luxor and the Winter Palace never fail to deliver a unique experience that stays with me long after the holiday is over. The country and its people are so friendly, open and hospitable - some view... More
