I chose this hotel because of it's history -- basically the center of British Egypt in the late 19th century. It did not disappoint! The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are lovely, the staff is very helpful. We arrived on an early train, and even though our room wasn't available yet, the staff let us nap in cabanas in the... Stayed in 2014 and the staff were lovely. Lots of historical sites to visit with Karnak and the Valley of the Kings. Tourist numbers are disastrous in Luxor since the last revolution, so the attention from the local tradesmen can be a bit more overpowering than it used to be. You feel like your taking part in a three legged... More

We stayed at this hotel more than once and every time we are amazed. This is truly the best hotel in Egypt. It has unique spirit and atmosphere that cannot be compared to anything elese. Staying at his hotel makes you feel like traveling in time. The garden and the pool are just amazing. Service is extra good, all staff... More

This is a great hotel in the grounds of The Winter Palace. This brings to life all your school history lessons. Great breakfasts and lunch though dinner is rather repetitive. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We have already booked to go back next year.

I can only agree with others about the beautiful gardens. We also enjoyed the little hoopoes and the pair of Eagles flying around. The staff are extremely helpful. Breakfast was well presented with an excellent selection. We has room service a couple of times and enjoyed very good, hot meals. They were also quite large. Just ignor the people at... More

Whether you are AI, B&B, ½ board or full-board, it makes little difference to the staff here. All guests get the same service. The hotel is managed by French company Sofitel and shares the grounds and pool with it’s vastly more expensive sister, the Winter Palace. It does operate as a completely separate hotel, with its own entrance and reception... More

Where to start. The Pavilion is the newer addition to the original infamous Winter Palace Gardens Hotel but I have to say that the rooms were cleaned daily and thoroughly, the air conditioning was constantly on and worked throughout my stay. The staff were amazingly helpful and went out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.... More

2014 brought us to Luxor (for the first time to stay as we had passed through it on two Nile cruises). Booking at the Pavillion for 1 week we were told just before we arrived that due to under-occupancy we (that is six other travellers) would be upgraded to the grand old dame herself. I have already posted my 2014... More

Spent 2 weeks in this hotel and I will be returning !! Luxor is a beautiful place with lots to see and do, it is a shame that they have been hit so hard by the economy and are struggling with tourism, this results in a lot of hassle but the security outside the hotel are more then happy to...
