What a fantastic place to stay. We had two rooms with balcony views and was a great base for the area. Food was excellent and the staff were all superb. I even had a private lesson with chef on how to make tahina. Quiet, nice facilities, great friendly hosts, excellent food and reasonably priced. Loved it!

Exceptional value, we had a twin room with private bathroom, airport collection, a good breakfast every day, a spacious balcony with a view to Luxor Temple and all at hostel prices! The service is personal and extremely friendly and all our requests were fulfilled without any delay or fuss. The pool is on the small side, but perfectly adequate, there... More

Agree with other reviewers. This is a great little family run hotel. Very clean and large room with balcony overlooking the Nile. Hotel is close to the East bank West bank ferry which is very cheap. Hotel has good food and there are also many restaurants around with good food. Small pool, but I didn't use it. Hotel had an... More

Superbly located in the West Bank with great views of the Nile and the Luxor temple. Great base to explore sights in the west as well as the east bank while cutting down on a lot of the east bank based tourist hassles. Self contained hotel with great food, friendly staff and a small pool. The view from the Nile... More

This hotel is in a great location. Easy access to the west bank sites and the ferry to the east bank temples. Big, clean rooms overlooking the nile and luxor temple. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food on roof top terrace. Highly recommend staying here.

We have visited Luxor 8 times and this is the first time we have found El Masala Hotel! We went because in all the hundreds of hotels in Luxor rated on Booking.com, this one is #4 and on the West Bank. We prefer to stay on the West Bank for many reasons. It is laid back and less touristy than... More

Last year, after staying here alone for the second time and singing its praises on my return home, two friends decided to join me this year. They were not disappointed and had a lovely time. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the food is exceptionally good. I was ill whilst I was there (a chest infection) and the... More

Stayed here for one night. We organised a driver through the hotel, and the driver (Mohammed) organised practically everything for us. We had our own 'boatman' to cross the Nile and everything, it was great. The hotel itself is lovely and the service is excellent, these people will bend over backwards for you. They made us breakfast (omelettes) at 7am... More

Have recently returned from El Mesala hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Have previously stopped on the East Bank, and wonder whether West might be best? The room was kept spotlessly clean, and we were provided with a heater which we used for maybe 10 minutes no more in an evening. The bed was comfortable, and the water hot.... More

My family and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Egypt. We absolutely loved the El Mesala. The people were so helpful and the food was the best we had on our trip. We had a 2 bedroom family suite that was perfect for our group. The view from the roof top restaurant was awesome. It is located... More
