This place feels like you're a thousand years ago, with all the paintings and styles covering the walls and the architecture itself so amazing. We booked 2 rooms, 1 double and 1 single. The staff were extremely helpful, cooking us custom dinners, and they were really kind people that I felt sorry for them because of the current situation that... More

You can go to one of those standard places along the East Bank in Luxor, but then expect to be bombarded with traffic noise most of the time, and sacrificing the romantic Ferry Boat ride over to the West Bank at the end of the day. The Sheherazade hotel was a welcoming experience from start to finish. From the moment... More

This is the best hotel I've stayed in on my previous journey to luxor, Aswan and Abu simbel, it's a customer/people-driven hotel, they stayed on the phone with us to give us directions till we reached the other side of the Nile to find a car waiting for us and giving us a lift till the hotel, it was a... This is the third time we have stayed at the Sheherazade, and we were as satisfied as ever. While we know our way around now, and didn't ask much of them, the room and restaurant services were as good as ever. We still enjoy the authentic Egyptian location, and peace and quiet (other than that wretched cockerel next door!), and... More

I've been visiting Luxor since 2000, and stayed in several hotels, both on the East and west banks. Since 2010 the Sheherazade has been my second home, but I wouldn't wish them to become complacent - so I will try to include some negatives. The rooms are comfortable, although sparsely furnished - I always ask them to move a small... More

A group of us attended last week for a Dinner at Hotel Sheherazade and we were most impressed. The meal was delicious - tomato soup followed by chicken shawarma with battered aubergines (my favourite), potatoes and fresh salads. Dessert was fruit salad which was so refreshing and colourful. And we even had the Egyptian equivalent to "After Eight Mints" with... More

You really know you are in Egypt when you stay at this hotel, the decor is beautiful and it really sets the mood, at night the mountains are lit up and the hotel has a beautiful view from the outdoor dining area. The food is beautiful; on the first night we were served the chef's special bread and tahini dip... More

The architecture and garden were lovely. There was a terrific orange tree blooming that filled the air with a lovely fragrance. The staff were kind, and we found the food tasty. They do serve alcohol, though it was a bit expensive. The hotel would be very conducive to families with children. The adobe architecture of the rooms were a cool... More

I can not speak highly enough of this hotel. On our last night staying in the Sheherazade my husband became very ill with Typhoid and if it weren't for the staff of this hotel, he wouldn't have survived the night. They went above and beyond their service responsibilities, for which I am very grateful. I really loved this hotel. It's... More

My wife and I enjoyed the stay so much that, upon leaving, were a bit sad. It's unfortunate that tourism is hurting as badly as it is when these wonderful accommodations exist. Room: A described and what we needed for a relaxing escape. Kept very clean and had water/electricity the entire time. Even if we did find a problem, the... More

Hotel Sheherazade is ideally located far from crowds & noise, an oasis of calm in a green & shady garden.
