My husband and I stayed at the Keylany for 4 or 5 days. The rooms are basic, but clean, and the staff are wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Also, breakfast is served on the roof outside in a cute terrace area. It is in a central location, right off the main market and close to the river, so it... more

We stayed here primarily as a stopover for our daytrip to Aswan. The staff was very friendly in getting our tour to Aswan, which was priced extremely cheap. They even offered to wake us up and have breakfast in a box for us. They are known for their cheap tours which is a huge savings (I think 30 Egyptian pounds... more

When we reached Aswan we checked into the mid-range Philae hotel and immediately checked out as a result of the damp rooms, shabby furnishing and old and stained bathrooms. We ended up in Keylany simply based on the Lonely Planet reference to its spotless bathrooms, which turned out to be accurate. The bathrooms were indeed spotless and the rooms clean.... more

The keylany Hotel is typical of the concrete buildings in Egypt. It's probably 5 stories without an elevator, so if you have knee problems try to get the ground floor. Breakfast, which is above average, is served on the roof. It's pleasant on cool mornings, but the climb up, again is rough on old knees. Like most hotels in Egypt,... more

We stayed 2 nights in the Keylany. The room was clean and nice, the bathroom really typical with its oriental mosaic. However it was a bit small, and the bath towels smelt like they stayed wet a long time before drying. The staff is really willing to help; the receptionist spent nearly 20min in our room trying to repair the... more

We stayed at the Keylany for one night in Aswan. The hotel has a great rooftop terrace which serves a great breakfast; fresh juice, tea or coffee, toast and pancakes. We arrived very early on a flight from Cairo and had breakfast (10LE per person but otherwise included in room rate) before setting off for the day. The hotel is... more

The hotel is very simple and cheap, conveniently located. The rooftop terrace is very nice, and the staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean, with a safe. The bathrooms could use some renovations (door not closing properly, plumbing problems) but overall it is a very good budget hotel. more

The Good -The younger man at the front desk is very helpful. I think his name was Ahman. Deal with him if possible. -Our room had a clean fridge and television was fairly quiet and the beds were fairly comfortable -Soap and toilette paper was supplied, along with clean towels -Hot water lasts long enough for two people to shower... more

This place comes highly recommended and it worth the hype. It is a real value accommodation. Your stay includes a nice breakfast on the rooftop of the hotel. The breakfast (included in your rate) features coffee/tea, fruit juice, Egyptian pancakes, fruit salad, bread/toast w/ honey and jam. Unfortunately, we were only able to have one breakfast at the restaurant due... more

Stayed here for five nights while in Aswan. All in all a great stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They don't push you at all to take a tour. A nice breakfast is included in the price and served on the covered roof-top (fresh fruit, pancakes, white toast, cheese, jam, honey, fresh lime juice and tea). Rooms are... more
