My recent visit to the Marhaba was a true reflection of Egyptian hospitality. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. The staff were very professional, friendly, attentive and eager to ensure our stay was enjoyable and memorable. The rooms are extremely clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The Nile view rooms are highly... more

Nice size rooms but bathroom poor. Make sure you get a balcony as the views of the Nile are Excellent. Breakfast was not very good at all. Location close to town centre and bazaar etc. Not a bad place to stay for one night whilst waiting to go on a Nile Cruise. Bargain on the room price. more

This hotel made our stay while in Egypt! The hotel views of the Nile are spectacular and the rooftop restaurant offered authentic food at great prices. The rooms are clean and comfy. Just make sure you have a balcony. Also, the staff was extremely attentive and the tours were great! Everything, and I mean everything, was taken care of by this... more

We flew into Aswan in the evening to board the MS Kasr Ibrim the next morning, so I just booked the Keylany that night, and great value as it is, it's as basic as they come and we couldn't face another two nights there when we got back from our cruise - we are a bit too old for proper... more

We were on a Gecko's tour and this hotel wasn't actually the one listed so it was a bit of a surprise when we ended up there! The hotel at the time was brand new, just opened so there was work going on to the final touches and there wasn't a full compliment of staff in the restaurant. However, our... more

Marhaba is located very nicely near the train station. The big tourist-local market is only 1km away from it. The view from the roof is amazing of the Tombs of the Noble across the Nile river. I stayed only one night at this place and had a trerrible time sleeping. There was only a two hour peace time during the... more

We picked this place based on the reviews in the Lonely Planet and the Rough Guide tour books. They both raved about the "fabulous" breakfast buffet and the glorious roof top bar. First allow me to say that my wife and I live in Egypt. We are used to the "faded glory" that is common in hotels in Egypt. We... more

Here is the letter I wrote to Egyptian Tourist Authority regarding the hotel: In the morning of October 17 in Aswan, I made a payment of 150EGP to the hotel where I was staying, Hotel Marhaba, for a day trip to Abu Simbel. The trip was to leave Aswan at 4:30am the following day. At 9:00pm that day I was... more

I spent one night at Marhaba, in between two weeks of heavy travel throughout the country. Impressions: The hotel was much bigger than I realized - with many floors and an enormous number of rooms on each. The management was very friendly. The room rate was good. And...there is free internet - a major perk in this part of Egypt.... more

Stayed here for two nights with my fiancee in March 07 for US$60/night in a double room. The hotel is more awkward than bad but I would suspect there is better value to be found. Our large room had a nice, big patio (shared with one other room) overlooking a park and the Nile, but the blaring techno music from... more
