Our 3 days at Bel El Kerem were fantastic. Peaceful and relaxing: We drank a lot of delicous tea on the roof terrace, watching the children play and chase their camels, and having good conversations with the owner Abdel and his crew. We also enjoyed playing table tennis in the beautifully decorated recreation room. The food is exceptional and delighted... More

What a lovely place to stay! Amazing view of Aswan, the Nile and the Tombs, basic but comfortable rooms, very welcoming staff and great food. Bet El Kerem felt like home. The staff were extremely helpful and Mohamed was a star. We stayed for 4 nights with a toddler and a baby and they had lots of attention from everyone.... More

Bet el Kerem is on the west bank of the Nile at Aswan, just a few moments on foot from the ferry jetty. It's a great location, quite literally on the edge of the desert, and extremely peaceful. The only problem with the location is the very aggressive nature of the ferrymen, who will try to rip you off every... More

We visited the Bet el Kerem at the beginning of March. It was a very pleasant departure from your usual hotel. We wanted something quiet and peaceful, and it was perfect. The meals are a more communal affair, and the cook was very accommodating. We even had boxed lunches packed for our day trips for 5 euros each. They do... More

We stayed 4 nights in a family room with our two young sons and we all had a great time. There are so many positives about this place - it's quiet, it has an amazing view, the food is fantastic (especially the buffet supper!!) and the staff seem like they honestly want to hang out with you. You do have... More

We appreciated the exceptional hospitality at this place. The owner is very helpful and makes you feel like part of his family. He simply loves people and in particular children! The place has a roof terrace with a wonderful view over the Nile and the desert. You can also hang out in the garden in front of the guesthouse. The... More

My friend and I have had the pleasure of staying here several times in the past few years and we are always welcomed back feeling like family, not just friends. We have just revisited Aswan the first week of January 2013; coming from Sudan and headed to Luxor. We love the hospitality at Bet El Kerem. The food is wonderful... More

BEIT EL KEREM This is an update to my review of spring 2011. We stayed...our fourth time... for 9 days at Beit el Kerem in January, 2013. We returned to Egypt for this trip because of Beit el Kerem and a trip they organized for us to Sudan (I’ll post another review about that trip by March 2013). The guest... More

Really great to be the other side of the Nile overlooking both the Nile and the desert but just a short and very cheap ferry ride away from downtown Aswan. Much better food than the Aswan restaurants in general and extremely helpful in organising whatever excursions you want. Great recommendation to visit the Nubian Animalie(?) Museum on Elephantine Island. Abdullah... More

No place is better than that managed by its owners! And when the owner has Nubian roots seasoned by 20 years of hospitality experience and Euorpean exposure, there is no better place to stay! Bet el Kerem literally translates into "house of generosity" and the place offers much more than that! I have been to Aswan at least 6 times... More
