We stayed at the Mena House for two nights because we had heard about the amazing view of the pyramids. It did not disappoint! The proximity and glory of the pyramids dwarfing the hotel will take your breath away. The view alone is worth the price. Be sure to book a pyramid view room. In addition, we were able to... more

Hubbie and I live in Cairo and just wanted a night away and a day at the pool. The night away with pyramid view was great. We sat on our balcony sipping bevvies and gazing at the pyramids in front of us. Room was lovely (we were in garden wing, 4th floor). Negatives: too bad about the Moghul Room..a bit... more

We booked this trip through Globus tour company. I was shocked at the classy hotels they booked us in between our Nile cruise. We were given the royal treatment at Mena House. The hotel had excellent food and we were able to upgrade for free at check-in to a room overlooking the Great Pyramid. We woke up and went to... more

The Hotel lived up to its reputations for first class service. Its one usual drawback is its distance from the center of town--but who needs that with the beautiful views of the pyramids. Food at the restaurants up to standards and staff impeccable. The one shocking thing--and I have stayed here several times over the last 15 years--the pool was... more

The former palace of King Farouk, set opposite to the Pyramids. We were very lucky to have a Pyramid view rooma d what a view it was . I woke up on my 40th to the view. It is a little bit of a walk through the gardens,to the rooms which are set in an L shaped block. The room was very... more

The Mena House in Cairo is an exciting place to stay. The history of this hotel is amazing. The staff was wonderful and our rooms were clean, nice and had a great view of the pyramids. The food was good and the service excellent. I was there with my daughters ( 3 women) and never felt uncomfortable. The staff made... more

We got a Pyramid view room 1108 (in the old part) Perfect view of the Pyramids. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good; excellent service and wonderful typical food. The first day I let the waitress order for us and it was all excellent. From that day on we got the same thing. The Indian restaurant had very good food... more

My wife and I spent 5 nights in the Palace section of the hotel. I opted for the Pyramid view room and I must say we were not dissapointed. Our room had two balconies overlooking the Giza pyramids and they were so close it seemed that you could almost touch them. It was just a short 10 minute walk to... more

There probably isn't a better view from a hotel room on the planet and the food in the restaurants is excellent and I undoubtedly would return in a flash but....but....the rooms are in need of refreshing (we stayed in the "Old" section with Cheops just across the street),which was indeed, old, but relatively charmless, and the bathroom (which came with a can... more

We stayed in the Mena House for 3 nights. I loved every second of it. Breakfast was lovely, and we ate at the Indian Restaurant one night which was very good. We stayed in a Pyramid view room which was fantastic and so worth it. We loved sitting around the pool in the afternoons with the pyramids in the background.... more
