this hotel was most unfortunately included as accommodation for the first 2 nights and last night of our 10 day 'treasures of the nile' gekos tour - and my husband and i, as well as the other 3 couples on our tour were most dissappointed. firstly, our bathroom toilet was found dirty, one other couple had no towels, and another... more

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning and at the end of our travel with Gecko's (the hotel hosts groups from Intrepid Travel and Gecko's tour operators) and I am very sorry to say that it was a terrible experience. At the check-in me and my girlfriend were shocked at discovering the impoliteness of the receptionists. We had been... more

Stayed with 2 relatives,(all males)reception staff spoke to us to check in,and again to check out,not once in between, not even good morning!! Bar staff and waiters were very friendly, breakfast was average, and although we hadn't booked evening meals we found ourselves eating here every night of our weeks stay.Meals are very cheap, and of a high standard. Our room was clean-ish and... more

My partner and I stayed twice at this hotel in October 08, at the begining and end of our tour to Egypt. The first room was very old and dated but had a excellent view of the Nile. The second room was not as dated but was at the back of hotel with no view. The bed was very comfy... more

After reading some of the reviews on here, I have to say I was prepared for the worst. But it really wasn't that bad! Stayed here for a few nights before my Geckos tour in December. The hotel was clean and the staff were relatively friendly (though that's because they're all on the lookout for a tip). Breakfast was pretty... more

We were staying in Cairo over the Christmas break, when most good budget places were full, while we didn't have money for Ritz or Hilton. Other reviews for Pharaoh Egypt on this site were quite negative, but I decided to take the risk. In the end I wasn't disappointed. The first room offered to us was awful: broken furniture, semi-working... more

This place is terrible. The phones didn't work, the satellite was pirated and would switch channels in the middle, the sheets were filthy, and the service was awful. There are vulture taxi drivers who hang out just outside the hotel. I have lived in cairo for many months and this place was overpriced and disgusting. Don't stay here. more

We were on a one week tour of Egypt so we stayed in Pharaohs Hotel at the beginning and end of our tour. I have never come across a worse hotel then this. The lobby is really nice so you expect more when you go up. When we got to our room which was big we found the tv didnt... more
