Came in middle of the night Saturday after being turned away and striking out at many other hostels. Staff welcomed us and was eager to show us two private rooms @ 90le/$12 per night. As is customary we were offered tea in the comfortable common area with wall to wall rugs and pillows. Breakfast everyday there also. All staff speak... More

In this review i am taking into consideration that the price is only EGP 150 a night, so i will not be too critical. One important factor in this hotel is that the rooms are all different, and your experience may vary largely on which one you get. Some of the twin rooms in the back of the hotel are... More

Transerred to this hostel from a different hostel in Cairo. Booked online and walked down Talit Harb to check out hotel. We pleasantly surprised to see that I had been booked into a small but very clean, self-contained hotel like room with air conditioning and balcony. Staff were only too keen to help and went errands for me for litereally... More

We arrived at King Tuts via a pick up from the train station after a long ride in a local bus through the Sinai Peninsular. The driver wanted to put our bags for eight of us on the roof without tying them on! Fortunately we had a piece of rope to tie them down. We were given time to settle... More

I came to Cairo with 4 friends and from the moment we arrived the guys from the King Tut were nothing but helpful. Our plane was delayed and they still picked us up at a horrible time in the morning. Haytham, the top guy at King Tut, arranged, for a very good price, all our travel tickets and transport arrangements... More

I don't understand how people claim that this hotel is clean, I prefer not to see where these people live... The bathrooms are an absolute mess, they are only clean by the customers when they use them. When we return to King-tut after 10 days in egype, it was even worse: the bed-sheets were still full of hairs left by... More

Pros: We stayed here about a year ago (in 2010) and really appreciated the King Tut Hostel in Cairo. We booked based on past Trip Advisor reviews and weren't disappointed. The rooms are not great but good enough for your purpose of staying in Cairo. We were able to walk to the Egyptian Museum in about 10-12 minutes and khan... More

THIS IS A small hostel in downtown Cairo, a place that never sleeps. It is very modest but correct and well situated, and the owner can advise and propose different plans for continuing your trip throughout Egypt according to your wishes and budget. Afit is a genius of the travel agency. We had little time and money and made a... More

When visiting Cairo, I could not have envisaged that one of the best aspects of Egypt and Cairo for that fact would be hidden inside the busy streets of downtown Cairo. The King Tut hostel was a clean, tidy and extremely hospitable environment with the owner giving myself and my partner a fantastic deal on 3 city trips with a... More

I stayed at the King Tut hostel in march, while stopping over in Cairo. Initially it seemed ok, the manager gave me a welcome drink, then started trying to sell me tours. As i was tired after arriving late in the evening, i said i would think about them and discuss it the next day. I woke up in the... More
