I stayed at Zayed on two occasions this september. The location is definitely bad for first time tourists. The city center is on the opposite side of Nile, so u have to catch a cab to center which will cost you 15 L.E. An excellent base to explore Cairo - I felt safe walking around the neighbourhood although it is a bit of a maze to find it on the way back - adds to the adventure. The hotel is in a very inconvenient location for exploring Cairo. It's a lot way out of the city centre, and there's really nothing interesting nearby. Just returned to UK after a stay at Zayed. The people were lovely, food good and comfy beds. The lifts were a bit confussing as couldn't open the door and the floors ate a bit maze like...but that added to the ambiance! I'll saty there again! Catherine x more
