There aren't a lot of hotels in Cairo that fit into the "middle range" of prices -- there are several inexpensive hotels which look pretty sketchy, and several large chain hotels which will cost you an arm and a leg. The Hotel Longchamps is a great value in that middle range, and was a very pleasant stay overall. The rooms... more

We stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights and found the place very clean, and the staff very friendly. Very good beakfast and you have coffe and tea trays in your room. Something you don't find very often. The entrance downstairs is not much to look at. So don't be put off. The rooms are the best in Egypt and... more

Although not the type of place that you would think would be ideal for a Mom traveling with two tweens and a teen, it was great. One of the girls had a missing bag and the staff followed up on our missing luggage report, and even gave the nagging guy who wanted a bigger tip for delivering the bag grief... more

There is nothing negative I could say about Longchamps-from the management to the cleanliness and on to the location. Zamalek is a treed neighbourhood and offers a respite from the mayhem that is Cairo. The hotel is spotless and safe and the beds are comfortable. There is free wireless that you can access from your room. The breakfast is large... more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Longchamps in Cairo. I was greeted at the airport by the Hotel driver and had a great ride to the Hotel. Once at the Hotel, throughout my stay, my sister, friend, and I were all treated with the utmost courtesy and respect by the staff. The staff was helpful in catching Taxi's... more

We have just come back this morning. Stayed in the hotel for a week. Excellent value, fantastic location, a VERY caring and attentive GM and staff. They get things done, and quickly (those who travel to Egypt know that this is a most welcome change). They also deliver on their poromises, give useful advice (and speak ENGLISH!). Quiet location, close... more

Picked this hotel up on Trip Advisor which said the area was a bit dubious but the hotel itself was nice. We needed to check out at 6am for a flight and were told that they coffee and croissant would be arranged for us only to find that nothing had been done. We felt cheated as breakfast was included in... more

I have tried them all during the past 15 years in Cairo, they were all loud, too expensive, sometimes filthy, undevoted staff, and the cab drivers charge you triple once you leave a 5* hotel. Not so with the Longchamps. Imagine a quiet side street in, let's say, Greenwich Village or Notting Hill, then you are in Zamalek at Ismail... more

My husband and I stayed at Longchamps for 3 nights in May, 2009. The room/bathe was lovely and the hotel was more than accomodating in making our stay pleasant. They arranged our airport transfer which was much appreciated and efficient with driver arriving early and being most plesant, and driving seemed more than satisfactory. All in all, the stay at... more

My family and I stayed here during our 1 day in Cairo. Andrea and the front desk was excellent and very helpful with information we asked for. The Hotel is located a 5 minute taxi ride from the Egyptian Museum and about 40 minutes from the Pyramids of Giza. We only stayed in the hotel one night and found it... more
