The Victoria is a remarkably-preserved building, of a vintage with the more-famous Windsor, but a world ahead in quality. It's conveniently close to the Downtown and Islamic Cairo attractions, with a Metro stop a couple of blocks away, and it's also well located for the Ramses Train Station and the Cairo Gateway Bu Station. The lobby is a good indication... more

The Victoria is in an excellent location ten minutes walk from the train station on a street that although busy wasn't really all that bad noise-wise. The rooms were big and airy, furniture was a bit past it's sell by date but was all beautifully cleaned. The beds were slightly on the worn side - a new mattress certainly wouldn't... more

given the high prices of accomodation in cairo, this hotel is a very good choice for someone who wants a clean, comfortable but simple room. the rooms were big and clean although the bathroom could be improved. interesting decor and good location near the subway and city center. being located in a main street, the room was a bit noisy... more

Arrived at about 1 in morning as our flight was delayed by 3 hours. No problems - we were taken to our (very large) twin room which was clean & quiet . Beds were very comfortable and clean and we loved the shutters. Nice TV too so we could watch the news. Bathroom could do with updating but was clean... more

I've been staying at the Victoria for the better part of a decade but I think this is my last time. The place is quiet and clean, at least by local standards. On the other hand, it is not that easy to get to, the rates keep going up, and the stff is humorless and not helpful -- most recently... more

upon arrival at the hotel at 2 am we were slightly put off by the two men working the reception who seemed to be preoccupied with paperwork. our room was cosy and had a tv that showed bbc news 24 and the occasional english b movie. the grout in the bathroom was discoloured, but other than that the standards of... more

Rated a 3 star and meets that standard. Phone did not work for the entire stay. Promises to fix phone not fulfilled. Bathroom shows age and had odour. No bath curtain for shower. No hot water for part of stay. Noisy if you get street facing room. Mosque next door so expect prayers calls in middle of night. No fridge.... more

The Victoria is definitely a hotel with character. I loved it, but it will not suit all tastes. Built, as the name suggests, in the 19th Century, it seems to have had a mild revamp in the 1970s and not much else, though there are televisions and a mildly pricey internet cafe. My experience of the hotel started with the... more

I stayed at the Victoria Hotel as part of tour with Intrepid Travel. I stayed there the night before our tour commenced in a single room, and I had a double room booked by our tour group on our last day in Cairo. The single room was small but adequate and the bathroom had hot water. There is no wireless... more

Stayed at the Victoria Hotel for a few nights, and had a good experience of the place. It's close to the Ramses train station which is handy, and there are several restaurants in the vicinity - and we found that we could easily walk down to downtown Cairo. That is - no need to stay at more expensive places on... more
