I had never been to Egypt before, so i was prepared for the worst. If you are traveling on a budget, the Concorde is a good place to stay. The rooms were pretty large and bathrooms were clean and seemed new. The elevator is tiny (you have to close the door yourself) and took forever because i was in such... more

The hotel is a good base from which to explore Cairo and Giza. It all depends on what you are looking for. My wife and I don't spend a great deal of time in the room so we tend to choose a hotel such as this. The staff were friendly and helpful, but do avoid using their tours, restaurant, or... more

Experience with concorde is not so great. only positive is the location. otherwise, hotel is quite old, not maintained properly. lift is retro style. rooms and beds are too small. breakfast was ok though. overall okay for budget traveller, but dont expect much. more

Small hotel with lots of character, great location walking distance to the river Nile. Clean room. Very friendly staff. Safe neighbourhood. 5 minutes Metro to central Cairo. Hotel can arrange excellent tour guides, much cheaper than pre-booked from Australia. Sheraton hotel is 100m from the Concorde for money exchange and shopping mall. Lots of good and cheap restaurants close by.... more

I have to weigh in with the "you get what you pay for" crowd. We got our air and travel bundle off of Opodo, and my guess is that once you factor out the airfare, we paid about $35 per night for our basic, ensuite double room. From the bottom up. Reception: The doorman, bellhop, and personnel behind the reception... more

Except for the location of the hotel - walking distance from Al Tahrir bridge, Cairo Sheraton & Pyramisa hotels - there is absolutrely nothing to recommend this hotel. The rooms are like cells, no balcony/patios, even though hotel website mentions all rooms have balconies. Bathrooms are chancy - you may get one where the fixtures are new and in working... more

We are three American women who had booked and paid for two nights at the concorde dokki for Dec 2008. Weeks before our trip (mid November) we had a change of plans and we asked the hotel and asiarooms.com if we could change the reservation from two nights in a row to one night on Monday and the other on... more

I just needed a room for a few hours in between flights from Cairo to Abu Simbel so I decided to stay at the Concorde. The website pictures looked good and they claimed to have free wireless internet. All I basically needed was internet access, a bathroom (shower) and a bed. There is no internet access in the room, you... more

Convenient location and an attentive barman are the only positives I can come up with about this hotel. I was bitten very badly by bed bugs on my 3rd night of my 4 night stay there. Upon making a complaint and requesting any form of compensation the hotel manager only gestured for me to be quiet (by running his hand... more

This hotel is in the middle of Cairo. If you want to be situated just five minutes away from everything, this is the place for you. At first glance, you may think that this hotel is too old and falling apart but once you spend a few hours there, you would realize that this is a jewel that just needs... more
