I'm a world traveler due to my work. My previous best (the Kuala Lumpur Hilton) has been dethroned by the Marriot Zamalek. The facilities are amazing. My room overlooked the Nile (I may have got lucky here). Fast reliable internet. Spotlessly clean. I was lucky to get a government rate which made it all the better. The place is like... more

Spent 4 nights in this great hotel in this mad city with too many people living in it. Our room overlooked the Nile right by the bridge which gave us endless entertainment watching the driving!! Pool area great at the end of the day. Organised day trips thru guest services - very well organised, although did hear a horror story... more

We were here only because this is where our Egyptian travel agency put us. Otherwise a hotel like this would be way beyond our budget. The hotel has incorporated an old palace into it's external architecture and is impressive from the outside. Itl has all the amenities and services one would expect with a five star property. There are several... more

Good location and nice room in the northern wing of the hotel on high floor overlooking pool area and Nile. The main reception area is fairly standard but has some amazing and huge moroccan style lamps. It is a little Fort Knox-ish, with bags scanned on entry and walking through metal detectors but like most of Egypt I think its... more

Arrived here after a very long day on an Egyptian train and a hair-raising, terrifying taxi ride through the streets of Cairo. What a transformation! Spacious, well-decorated rooms, quiet, with very good beds - pleasantly firm. Nice baths. Hotel personnel were uniformly pleasant and helpful, and the rooms incredibly clean. Hotel restaurants served excellent food, but prices, esp. compared to... more

The photos are better than in person but the prices, safety (bomb sniffing dogs an all) and location make this a good central spot to stay. Not luxury but comfortable. Pay for the upgrade for access to the Concierge Lounge although they will tell you not to take more than one bottle of water or one item at a time.... more

We were staying here as part of a 12 day tour, so we added on extra nights both before and after. At first they gave us a room in the lower building which links the two towers, overlooking the parking lot. We asked to move, they moved us to a room with a construction site outside the window, so they... more

Me and my partner spent 3 days at Marriott Zamalek for a friend's wedding. I did not expect a 5-star resort as I had read all Tripadvisor reviews before going there, nevertheless, I expected the American standards of hospitality. To be honest, the hotel offers a safe and pleasant environment to spend one's time but at reasonable rates. In other... more
