Nice hotel. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Has a 24 hour bank as well as ATM. Easy to get cash or exchange money. Some small shops: Jewelery, book store (You can get postcards & stamps) tour office, clothing, camera shop..etc. The hotel is on an island in the middle of the Nile. walking distance to street under the bridge... more

Cairo Marriott Hotel is located in the Zamalek area in the heart of Cairo. It is a former palace converted to a hotel and has some wonderful public rooms with vaulted mahogany ceilings and marble staircases. It was very secure - vehicles were checked at the entrace to the parking area by guards and a sniffer dog and all packages... more

The restaurants in this hotel are very poor - often leaving out ingredients without telling you, and serving out of date food. Management don't seem to care about these problems and there are certainly many other hotels in Cairo much, much better than this. AVOID! more

My mom and I stayed at the Cairo Marriot during Oct 7-14th. Great stay, as long as you prepare yourself for the metal detectors, dogs sniffing the car upon arrival you will be fine! This did not bother us in the least bit but based upon the reviews here some people were bothered. The hotel was clean, grounds very well... more

The Omar Restaurant is overpriced and one gets the feeling that they are trying to save money by scrimping on their buffets. The Egyptian Night's Restaurant, however, is good value for... more

We found the staff to be unfriendly and not at all helpful. In one of the dining rooms (forget which one) we were asked for our pin number. The waiter was rude when we refused to provide the pin number. When we threatened to call Visa immediately he changed his tune. In the end we opted to pay cash. The... more

My wife & I stayed at the Marriott for 3 nights to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. Arrival - After proceeding thru the car security check and bomb sniff, we drove up the ramp and were greeted by the porter who welcomed us and took our bags inside. We were escorted by our tour guide to the reception. Check-in... more
