I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights ... the sheets were dirty, full of hair ... they did not even bothered to change them the carpet was dirty it is nothing more than a one star hotel .. over rated ... over priced ... one thing positive, the employees are very nice more

This hotel is equivalent to an inner city Super 8 or Motel 6. A 2 Star at best. It's obvious they keep it dark to cover up the worn, dirty walls and carpets. Small, older model TV's, beds are worn and mattresses 'sunken'. For the price and comfort I suggest staying at the Marriott or Sheraton and taking a taxi... more

First time in Cairo, Egypt - I thought this hotel was very nice. The beds were comfortable, the room was always tidy and I felt safe there. Just a 2 minute walk away there is a supermarket with clothing etc in it - I went in 3 times just to have a good look around. There are alot of shops... more

It is a 5-star hotel but honestly it deserves 3 at the best. Not that there is anything totally wrong with this hotel, but it is NOT the posh place it pretends to be. The rooms are very dark - dark curtains, dark carpets, dark furniture. The furniture has seen better days. It's quite worn. The bathrooms are okay though.... more

I stayed in the hotel for over two months in a basic Nile view room then got upgraded to a suite. I am a memeber of A-Club and gained many credits there. Basically the hotel is tired and OK for a few nights but is not geared up for extensive stays like mine. It is no way like any other... more

Last December I was to stay in Cairo for a night on my way to Morocco. When I looked up Sofitel on the net I didn't realise that there were two in Cairo and so I ended up booking the in Maadi instead of the more upmarket El Gezireh. What a huge dissapointment. The service was very basic as is... more

I have been to Cairo 4 times in the last 2 years and for convenience more than anything I stayed at the Sofitel Maadi. This Sofitel is NOT the world class Sofitel Hotels that you would expect. The 5 star rating is way over rated; it is at best a 3 star hotel. It is well located on the Nile... more
