I spent a week at this hotel on business. Rooms- Clean with complementry bottle of water each day. Shower over the bath and a TV with a variety of channels. You should ask for a room at the front, overlooking the Nile, which is much nicer. Service. Polite but slow, so very slow. Book out the night before you leave,... more

Chose this Semirami Intercontinental due to its central location which proved ideal for a short city break. Security at the front door was good with airport style metal detectors and x-ray machines for baggage. Check in was smooth and the room was good, if dated. Had a small balcony from which there was a view of the Nile and a... more

This review may have an element of bias as I am a member at the highest tier of the InterCon miles programme Will try keeping the element of bias out. Observations: - Great location - the museum, nile river boats (recommend La Pascha's Japenese restaurant) are within walking distance. For arabic food - Abou Sied (they have several outlets) is... more

I was for a pleasant surprise when I saw the hotel rep with my name plank at Cairo airport (and BTW I did not ask for a limo). Presuming (since I did not ask) it was complimentary, was glad to use it. While checking out the shock was when this was charged at 40USD (which is an overkill since a... more

Our children (9 and 7) were desperate to see Ancient Egypt, so after looking at too many reviews I picked the Intercontinental Semiramis. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and this one was lovely, great food and service. The room made up beautifully and clean towels each day (the environment being way down the list in Cairo!) We had... more

Its very well located in the heart of Cairo on the Nile River. It's also a very large hotel and busy. Generally I was happy with the hotel although I can also say that it is in need of a facelift. The staff are generally friendly and it has many restaurants to cater for all tastes. There is also a... more

My wife and I stayed at the Semiramis for a week in May 2009. I was attending a Conference at the hotel and my wife was relaxing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel has a lot of facilities and services and is located right beside the Nile. Take care crossing the raod to reach the Nile beacause the... more

We are a family of 4, with children aged 9 and 10, who stayed here for 4 nights. We found the room to be clean and of a more than adequate size. Housekeeping was good and they worked hard for their bakshheesh. The breakfast was great and plenty of it. However the hotel was so large and impressive that it... more
