Alexander hotel has a great communal area, where you have breakfast, watch TV and can watch the world from the small balcony. It is right on the road, like all the small hotels I have seen in Cairo and has a great atmosphere. Rooms adequately do the job and are clean. Much nicer than most of the hotels and hostels... More

I had wanted to visit Egypt for some time, and now was the time. Prior to my travel, I read numerous reviews and forums about properties in Cairo. I decided that I wanted to stay in the downtown core of Cairo, as I would be getting around on my own, and wanted to feel like the area I stayed in... More

I enjoyed satying in Alexander Hotel as its location, in the center of the city, enabled me from finding all what i needed easily. The shops kept opened till late night. It was safe to walk around. The place was really nice for its simplicity and calm atmosphere. I had a great experience in cairo despite the short period of... More

Please take this review with a grain of salt. I had a horrible time in Cairo, so I am not sure how objective my review of this hostel will be, but I will try. When I arrived, there were no rooms available so I had to wait, which wasn't a problem since I was early, but all the bathrooms are... More

the hotel was clean and the staff was helpful, the room with private bathroom and satellite TV and with very good price, the only thing was the elevator which I think was old, the hotel is on a busy street and you can pop out and in to buy anything you want from morning until night . on the street.

The hostel is well located, close to a metro station and to the Egyptian Museum. The toilets were broken in the bathroom of the triple room but otherwise the rooms were nice. Using the elevator can be quite an adventure but if you understand how to use it, it works The staff wanted to charge for the internet access, that... More
