Since I had read so many terrible things about Cairo hotels in general, I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at the City View Hotel. It is centrally located, the room felt bigger due to the high ceilings. We walked to the Egyptian museum twice saving us from haggling with the Cairo cabbies. Non-stop honking can be bothersome but it's... more

The staff here is wonderful. They are all very kind and generous trying to accommodate all your needs. My stay was $60 U.S. which was reasonable for the room. The room is not fairly large and does feel a bit cramped, but it is feasible. It seems like they try to get room out of every square inch you have.... more

I spent a night here while passing through Cairo. It's a basic hotel, not quite as elegant as the website photos would suggest, but I found it perfectly acceptable - except for the appalling traffic noise others have mentioned! My room overlooked the main square and the Museum, and the honking has to be heard to be believed - the... more

OK, I am a city guy. I am used to car alarms, horns, buses, shouting drunks. If you stay at this hotel, make sure to get a room away from the street, as Cairenes seem to have a love affair with their car horns 24/7. The hotel itself is fine. Rooms are all on the 5th floor of a residential... more

We stayed here on our short visit to Cairo and I would definitely stay again. This hotel was an excellent value in a very convenient location - right across from the Egyptian museum, walking distance to the nile and safe restaurants, and close to shopping and other conveniences. The staff are eager to please, and offer very clean rooms (you... more

Travelled to Cairo with my husband and two children (13 and 11) for the first time. Decided to give the City View a go and so glad we did. Our room had four single beds and its own bathroom and balcony, fridge, air con, tv and safe. The beds were comfy and we slept soundly every night. Have to admit the bathroom... more

This charming little hotel situated in an excellent central location far exceeded my expectations, skillfully combining professionalism with family-style personal attention to guest requests. The staff was respectful of my privacy when I needed to rest after a long trip from the US, yet everyone I met at the hotel repeatedly took the initiative to help me get the most... more

This is a new hotel that has only been open a couple of weeks. It is right across the street from the Cairo Museum and two minutes walk to the Nile River. The hotel was wonderfully clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel also as it's own restaurant (breakfast is included in the price of the rooms)... more
