Service There is an ajumma who can speak mandarin, so there wasn't any communication problem. She even came out to lead us. Value Slightly expensive compared to the other guesthouses we've stayed during our trip to Korea. Sleep quality Can be noisy if the other tenants are not considerate enough. Bright sunlight early in the morning. Cleanliness Room is clean.... More

The hostel is not really far from subway station. Maybe 10 Minutes walk. We booked one double room and one single room. But firstly, the lady gave us only 1 room for three people. My Korean friend booked for us. It is really strange, since other people stated about wrong reservations.. I don't know... The rooms are typical ondol rooms.... More

The hostel was not in a very convenient location as it was quite far away from the subway. For those who will be having a lot of luggage, it is advisable to get there by taxi instead. We took the subway with our luggages, which was terribly tiring as there was no escalator nor elevator. From the subway to the hostel... More

Be advised there are apparently two lodgings in Seoul called Friends House. This review page is set up for the one at 133-15 Chongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea but some of the reviews here are about the one in the neighborhood of Myeoungryun-dong 1-Ga, Jongno-gu (a different region of the city). The website of the one in Myeongryun-dong is http://www.friends-house.com/. My... More

I got multiple confirmations over email that we had two rooms booked for three nights. Upon arrival, we were told that they had instead booked one room for one night. We spoke to another guest at the place that also had her reservation mucked up. Since you can't count on your reservation being held, we'd advise booking elsewhere. That said,... More

I reserved a dorm bed for 3 nights. But when I arrived, the lady showed me the way to a single room and wanted to charge me 10,000 wan more per night. Of course, I refused her...repeatedly, I have to say. Coz she just kept asking me to stay in the single room. Finally she said that she will show... More

Uncomfortable and swindle owner, DO NOT STAY! Although I booked single room, they prepared a room for 4 persons, and charged expensive rate. Of course I complained, but a lady owner repeated her unreasonable excuse, and never accepted her mistakes. If you stay here, it is obvious you have trable.

"Friends House" is a Hanok, that is, the rooms and furnishings are in traditional Korean style. So staying here will not provide the levels of comfort you would get in a Western-style hotel, but then again the place costs half as much and definitely gives you a more Korean experience. Our room had underfloor heating and aircon, a small window,... More
