Don't expect wonders here. It's the standard philosophy: you have what you need, but no luxuries. I.e. no ammenties; i.e. not too big bathroom. And you can hear street noise in night time (my room was in the sixth floor). But on the other hand everything is clean and works; and staff is very friendly and supportive. It's located downtown,... I enjoyed my two weeks in Seoul soo much, not only because of the city but also the hotel where i stayed was awesome! This is located in very strategic area, very close to Gyeongbokgung Palace (just walking distant) which is located in main street of Seoul.easy to go around as the subway station is just 5 minutes walk. if... We stayed here during a fall trip to Seoul. The location is spectacular: close to several subway lines, Insadong and several historical areas, museums, walking distance to the city hall. Easy to reach from Seoul Incheon Airport with the Airport shuttle bus. Our room was big, clean, and quiet. The bed is on the harder side, but I prefer that... More

The hotel is walking distance from Insadong, a favorite hang-out of students and young professionals. At certain days, there are art installations and street performers in Insadong which is really nice. The breakfast can be improved by adding more selections. Bacon is served everyday and if you are not a fan of spicy food, is the only thing you'll eat... More

We have just spent two wonderful weeks at the Somerset in a two bedroom apartment. This was the second time we have stayed at this Hotel and returned because of its package of spacious, comfortable accommodation, excellent and responsive staff and an ideal location, being close to Insadon, the palaces, many restaurants and close access to a number of metro... We stayed for six days the last week of September 2014. We had two rooms as my wife and I were travelling with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson. The staff was wonderful and although it is difficult to single out anyone employee as all were exceptional Jeani Kim at the front desk was just a delight. The breakfast was beyond... More

What a lovely place to stay. Well equipped room with laundry, and kitchenette. There was a sort of Tesco small supermarket about 15 mins away, which it took a few attempts with different staff at desk to hear about, which supplied everything I could need. Included breakfast was quite a spread, although rather lacking in fruit some days. The gym... More

Good: location, gym, spacious room, kitchenette, washing machine, large fridge - overall good long stay convenience Bad: poor breakfast choice, barely warm water, limited hotel amenities (no conditioner, toothbrush, etc), cheap toilet paper, etc.

I am currently a long term resident in the Somerset, using it as a base whilst I search for more permanent accommodation in Seoul. It's a fantastic hotel in a brilliant location, close to the centre of town and convenient for public transport too. I enjoy being here so much, that I'm not really in a hurry to move out...... More

I attended a conference at Yonsei University and this hotel was recommended by the organisers as being good, close to the university and to the historic centre of Seoul. As my wife was with me all these mattered. I arranged with the hotel to be collected at the airport, very important after a 12 hour flight from London with an... More
