I was in Seoul for a two-month work assignment and my company got a good deal from this hotel I liked it because it was clean, comfortable, with an in-room stove, microwave, and clothes washing machine. There's a beautiful garden out back. It was also well located, near a bus line to work for me and near shopping and museums... More

Very comfortable, nice and huge room. One of the best apartments i have ever been. Like the daily cleaning service. Good location. My two girls love it very much and play hide and seek in the apartment. They refuse to leave in the morning for visit!

A superb stay at Somerset Palace Seoul. Location is fantastic, 2 minutes from Insadong and beautiful palaces, Bukcheon, etc. Service is great, very professional and very efficient. Rooms are spacious, great flat screen tv, views on Chogyesa Temple, 24/7 gym and mini rooftop pool. The restaurants are also top-notch. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here every time I go to Seoul.

I've been to this hotel twice and both are for biz trip. I fully enjoyed the suite which make u feel like cozy at home. The reception and staff could speak very good English. Adaptor is provided for free. If i have chance to come back again, i'll definitely choose it again.

This hotel offers good value and is in a very nice location. The rooms are spacious, clean, and I enjoyed the view from my window. The staff are welcoming, warm, friendly, and helpful. It's definitely a place I'll stay again the next time I'm in Seoul.

I stayed here for a month in September 2014. For the price, the suite was not as luxurious as I anticipated, but it was nice; there was nothing in particular wrong with it: reasonably comfortable, well equipped with a kitchenette and laundry facilities, really central location, and with a responsive staff. Wi-Fi was fast, and there was also an Ethernet... More

I stayed at this hotel for five nights in June 2015. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels of similar quality during the same period. I was originally going to stay for four nights but had to book and stay another night at the last minute. The staff was very accommodating and did not make me check out... More

This is an apartment-style hotel located close to Insa-dong,Bukchon Hanok village, and Gyeongbok Palace. There's a convenience store, and 3 great restaurants on the 1st floor, but there are so many interesting places to eat in within walking distance, choosing becomes a challenge. The apartment itself comes with fridge, microwave, washer and dryer, etc, --- a plus, especially when traveling... More

Stayed here for work recently, good location near some of the main temples in Seoul We were fortunate to see the ending of the lantern festival which is behind the hotel. Close to great restaurants, although the italian restaurant in the hotel is also very good. The pool in on the top floor, great view and lovely clean pool /... More

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighborhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighborhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighborhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the center of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
