First trip to Seoul and we were debating between staying in Myeongdong and Insadong. So happy with the choice we made to stay here in Insadong, and at Sunbee Hotel. Insadong has charming boutiques and shops, and plenty of eating options with authentic Korean cuisine. We love it compared to the bright shops and big crowds of frenetic Myeongdong, especially... The room was very clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was great. The hotel is just a short walk from Insadong and it is also near several subway stations. The only problem was that the hotel was a bit hard to find. Overall, the hotel offered great value.

The price is very reasonable. The staff is nice and their English is good. The room is clean and the bed and washroom are very large. However, there are two main problems. 1. The location is not best as we always need to change train line for going to most of attractions. 2. No heater provided.

A good location, good price, very friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms with nice amenities (plenty of free bottled water), and satisfying breakfast. Free wi-fi. The cafe makes a nice cup of coffee. I would come back and recommend it to others.

This hotel is in a great location, a couple of minutes walk from Insadong and five minutes from a couple of Metro stations. The rooms are all clean and well maintained, the restaurant serves an excellent breakfast! The staff are very friendly and helpful, all were able to give local information and recommendations. The only downside was the fact that... More

The price of this hotel is not cheap comparing to some other 3 star hotels in the city center. The staff there however are very helpful. Room, facility and service are all qualified for a 5 star review. I like it, but I would change to another cheaper one next time

I stayed here for my first 2 nights in Seoul. The hotel was very clean, spacious, and safe. The bathroom had toilet in separate room and very large shower area. Very dean and lots of hot water. There was an in room safe, fridge, tea, and slippers provided. Also breakfast included. The staff were friendly, helpful and available to assist... More

This was a very pleasant surprise, very reasonably priced hotel right in the centre of Insadong. Staff is very friendly, and the rooms are exceptionally large and agreeable (also the best bed I experienced in a hotel in a while). Bathroom and wifi are both excellent. The hotel is tucked away a bit in a side street and might be... More

One of the main reasons I chose this hotel is the location. Being in Insadong, many of the sights of Seoul are within walking distance (several palaces, markets, galleries, Bukchon Hanok Village, etc.), and many more can be reached after short rides on the Seoul metro; there are three nearby stations, Anguk, Jonggak, and Jongno 3-ga. Another reason was that... More

Safe, central downtown neighborhood. Desk staff speak english. Breakfast and drinks available in small lobby/garden cafe. Spacious, clean room, extremely responsive staff. This is the hidden gem for european, new zealand, american travelers. Good value.

Staying in Insadong

Neighborhood Profile
Insadong
Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.
