Pros: Great location, Tons of shopping and restaurants right outside your door. Close to the train lines and plenty of taxis right outside. Beds are comfortable and amenities are good (wifi, bottled water, helpful staff). They also have converters so you can easily use US electronics. Cons: The rooms are really small for the cost. No irons (but I think... More

We were there the first week of June and boy, this hotel has always always impressed us no end. It's the staff in there that made a world of difference. From the polite bell counter ajusshis to the reception staff to the cafe assistants. Not forgetting the housekeeping ahjumma. The triple room was spacious and super clean. Love the smell... More

Hotel is located in the heart of Myeongdong with modern and stylish rooms. My standard room with queensize bed however was pretty small. Actually when being in the room you don't get the feeling "huh that's a small one". But when moving around and trying to open and store your bags you wish for some more space...However, the rooms are clean... More

Our 4 night stay (May 7-11, 2015) was delightful. Small but well appointed rooms. Excellent complimentary breakfast that had different touches each morning. The location couldn't be better just a few steps off Myeongdong 3 gil on a 45º angle street across the street from the big Lotte Department Store. Some taxi drivers had a problem finding it because it's... More

Stayed here in May 2015. Second time at this hotel, but first time after they renovated the rooms. Still love the perfect location - just minutes away from the Airport express bustop in front of Ibis hotel, short walk to the nearest metro station, right in the middle of Myeongdong shopping street, and very close to lots of awesome restaurants... Dark n old room. Not modern at all. V small. Couldn't open my luggage to pack n unpack. Staying at busy district means u can hear ppl speaking or even yelling at nite. I stayed on 6/f, drunk guys downstairs yelled after midnight, pretty scary. If u simply want to hv 10-hrs shopping in myengdong area, the hotel s gd.... More

If you're looking for value for money in Seoul, this is the place to go. This hotel has everything you need for a super central stay in the city. It's close to the metro station, has a Starbucks in the building and everything else you may need within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and bright and are tastefully and... More

To me the Metro hotel in Myeong-dong, Seoul is one of the best hotels to stay at in Seoul. It is located in Myeong-dong shopping area and is very close to two subway stations (Euljiro 1(il)ga and Myeongdong. The front-desk staff are also friendly and polite and can speak quite good English. The breakfast, although just a small spread, is... More

Located at the edge of Myeongdong shopping area, you will be able to roam around anytime you want, train station is also right behind the hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious, staff is very friendly. This is our go-to hotel in Korea.

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighborhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighborhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighborhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighborhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
