We have stayed at the California Hotel a few times and with advance booking promotions that are frequently available it's good value. Rooms may not be perfect and a bit aged, but well equipped, with good Wi-Fi, sufficient parking and bathtubs plus showers in all rooms. There are quite a few restaurants within just a few steps walking distance, including... More

Not the cleanest. Not sure when the room was last checked as some of it was dusty. But it suited our purposes as a place to sleep after to checking out Club NB. The bed was very comfortable. Could have done with some proper lighting, but it seems to be normal as I've seen in another hotel. The male receptionist... More

I stayed here twice in April on a work visit. My South Korean hosts picked the hotel. It is conveniently located to the bus station across the street so that might have been the prime motivation for this location. The hotel was clean but small by American standards (typical of hotels at this price range in the region). My tub... More

I came here visiting Korea with a friend. I was a little worried at first that it was far from the subway but it wasn't too bad (maybe 10 mins from Sinnonhyeon Station). It was also in a safe neighborhood (which was good because we were all girls) and on the main road. There was also plenty of night life... More

Booked the room through booking.com for a cheap price. Overall it was quite ok and clean, there was a desktop in room which could be quite useful. Not close to subway or near any commercial center. No restaurant or fitness center in the hotel, and there wasn't anything that I should complain about.

It was our first trip to Seoul Korea and we had joined a budget tour. We had earlier been told by friends that seoul was an expensive city to live in and that their hotels had small rooms so we were not expecting much. The guide told us that we were getting an upgrade and that our room would be... More

Book this hotel through agoda.com. Review in agoda is v good. But disappointed with the hotel. Room is clean but not in good condition. Kinda old. Hotel also far away from subway about 15mins walk. Breakfast not provided. Need to find your own breakfast elsewhere.

Is it normal to get a receipt by chekcing out the hotel? For the lady behind the reception desk was not. You have had to discussed with her for a long time to get it. And she was sooooo lazy but she can speak English... The room is in dark color, and you have to used to the staff who... More

After reading many reviews calling it a "love Hotel" I was a little worried about what it would be like. I was very happy with my stay, the rooms were very nice and clean, nicer then many other non- love hotels I've stayed it in Korea. The Hotel was also very near the subway which made it very easy to... More

Its a love hotel meant for couples on short term (couple of hours) stay in the morning till evening, mostly local people. Its quite secretly located and neatly placed at the junction and joining by another smaller hotel too.Found other tourists amazed with the hotel cleanliness and also proximity to food and transport. Staying in Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam

Neighborhood Profile
Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam
If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no further than urban Gangnam and the nearby neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a strictly business district with a plethora of high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and the steady streams of office workers bustling about. But interlaced within are a string of shops, restaurants, bars, and other spots for entertainment. If Myeongdong is the generic meet-up and hangout spot north of the Han River, Gangnam is its answer for those on the south side. As evening comes, Gangnam comes alive with its countless neon lights attracting hordes of office workers, friends, and couples for food, drinks, perhaps a bit of singing at a noraebang, and more drinks. And the smattering of clubs around also draws plenty of folks looking to unwind and show off their moves on the dance floor. On weekends, the crowds gets bigger, the energy buzzes to a seemingly nonstop high, and Gangnam makes it clear why so many call Seoul the city that never sleeps.
