For US$130 a night, this hotel was quite a waste of money and is not where I would take a girl to impress them. The room is so old and is in desperate need of renovations. The key is some sort of prehistoric piece of plastic with holes punched in it which I ended up losing it but wasn't charged... More

1. Hotel staff are brimming with indifference and apathy. 2. The rooms are old and dusty. 3. The breakfast is far from satisfactory. But that's not the worst part. Everything on the above is not that big of a deal, and can honestly be overlooked, but... 4. They charge you for shampoo and soap that you've never used and they... More

...and indifference. There is no urgency or sense of service here; it is a hotel that is organized around big group tours. Thus, hordes from Japan and Hong Kong cycle through, being fed, sleeping, shopping, riding on big buses to obscure ceramic kilns, only to return to a room with expensive wi-fi and uneven air conditioning, with battered carpets and... Worn carpets, slow service, rooms not cleaned every day, coffee at over $12 per cup if delivered to room, loudest nightclub to disturb your weekend sleep - but to top it all off on check-out they try and charge you for all the amenities (the only hotel ever where the shampoo sachets are on the mini bar docket), even though... mystery shopper I checked in and found the staff very welcoming, rooms are a bit old especially the bathrooms fixtures reminds me of 15 years ago style when I first visited Korea, I spilt red wine on my jacket at a conference I rushed back to the hotel I called operator this was 11:00pm it just rang out the phone... This hotel is in dire need of new carpets, dusting, new towels and just a general make over to uplift it's whole look. The location is in the business district, so need to take a taxi for any of the palaces and to go 'downtown' which is the other side of the river. Taxis are cheap and easy to get... More

A medium hotel not far from Gangnam area in Seoul. On the Han river side. The rooms need some maintenance, but a good compromise for the price. In any case many locals are at walking distance. The breakfast is minimal: sometime a buffet, sometime a la carte.

I stayed here strictly to go to the club in the basement floors of this hotel. Upon check in, I was automatically upgraded. This was nice, but did not impress me at all. The room was oversized, but lacked the basics of any hotel. The first one that comes to mind is cleanliness. There were hundreds of bugs in the... More

I stayed here for 2 nights last month. I was warned by the tour guide that the room would be hot and boy was he right. As soon as I opened the door to my room, I felt like I had walked into a sauna. No amount of fiddling with the air conditioning unit would make it cooler. The people... More

Staying in Apgujeong / Cheongdam

Neighborhood Profile
Apgujeong / Cheongdam
Aside from Sinsa / Garosugil, no other area in Seoul connotes the words “luxury” and “fancy” like Apgujeong and Cheongdam. Global luxury brands have set up their flagship stores here, catering to the neighborhood's mostly affluent residents. It’s also one of the top areas in Korea (some say the world) for cosmetic surgery, attracting hundreds of thousands each year for a little nip or tuck. The other parts of Apgujeong and Cheongdam are mostly lavish residential buildings for some of Seoul’s most affluent alongside extravagant restaurants, bars, spas, and other spots for indulgence. And Cheongdam has long been a bastion for flashy clubs and parties, though in recent years, Itaewon has emerged as a strong challenger to those claims.
