Before booking to stay, I read past reviews from people. And I suggest that this place is a good choice. The staff were friendly; catered to needs E.G. answered questions regarding places to visit, etc~ And a bonus, they are all English speaking! Very clean building! Shops are also close by (restaurants and convenience store nearby). Transportation options are available... More

A great place to stay when you're in Seoul. We visited this hostel last February 2015 and availed of the triple room located at ground floor, right after you exit the lobby. The room was nice and clean and most of all spacious! There's also a private bathroom inside. We're also quite suprise as the room offers more than what... More

It seems like this place not doing well. Its hard to find and on the first floor is a noisy bar that stays open late so hard to sleep. Staff if friendly but bar staff and hotel staff is different. The staff is friendly and really helpful. The location is pretty nice, close to many tourist attractions. They offer free breakfast and if you are too tired to eat out, they serve delicious pizzas at their restaurant downstairs. Worth a stay !!

This hostel has very clear and easy instructions on how to get to the hostel (we took the bus). My mom and I got in pretty late and the front desk girl was very helpful. We got lucky and landed a room next to nobody, because the walls are a bit thin. But every guest seems to sneak about so... More

Arrived with some friends after a week of exploring Korea. It wad nice to have some "normal" breakfast. Staff is super friendly and rooms are modern and comfortable. We stayed in a 3 people room. Had a small kitchen and living room and bathroom. Staff helped us out when we needed it. Would return if I am ever in Seoul... More

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighborhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighborhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighborhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the center of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
