This guest house is the best place for the single traveler like me. It's difficult to find a cheap&clean place in Gangnam, (they mostly have the hotels...) However, this place has everything. Everything means cheap price and clean bathroom and good location. :) The place is just 2 mins from the main street of Gangnam and there is a small... More

This hostel is located right in the middle of Gangnam. It's actually quite hard to find if you don't speak Korean and don't have a map, but it seems they have some directions on their website which I did not look at. Other than that, this is a great hostel, everything is new and clean and they give you a... More

Great place to stay, good service and easy to get to. I was just in Gangnam for the one night, and when I found the entrance to the hostel it looked kind of shabby and by the time I entered the decrepit looking elevator, I thought maybe I'd made a mistake, but one I got up to the fifth floor... i'll preface this by saying i lived in korea for about four years and could gauge more or less what i was getting myself into. if it hadn't been for the fact that I pretty much had to be in this exact neighbourhood/location, and the price was right, i probably would have stayed elsewhere. first and foremost, it is an... The accommodation fee in Gangnam is very expensive, but we found out the JA in Gangnam to save our budget during the meeting in COEX. The location is very convenient for traveler to get there by Metro or shuttle bus from both Incheon or Gimpo Int'l airport. All sorts of equipment was provided although it was smaller than expected, only... More

Its extremely expensive to stay in Gangnam area, but JA make it affordable. I checked out a few hotel around the area and their price burns. Very clean and comfortable place. It could be smaller than expected, but its cozy. The host was very agreeable; I had financial problem and I could only stay 2 nights instead of 3. The... More

The JA in Gangnam is a flat in a fairly old apartment which was not the easiest place to find, but as soon as you open the door, everything is perfect. If you don't know where to eat or have fun or relax, ask Dan or his wife and they will tell you/ look it up if they are not... More

I stayed for one night. Very clean hostel. Owners were helpful. Comfortable bed. I would definitely stay again. Breakfast included was toast and spreads.Location was in the heart of gangnam. At the street food stores, you must try the hotdogs in pastry covered in tomato sauce and sugar. Sounds weird - tastes delicious...

This place is quite small but cozy and cool. And I can't miss attractive things and places because of advice of Dan, who is the master of The Ja. If you visit Gangnam and you consider a guest house, The Ja is the best place for you, I'm absolutely sure.

Staying in Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam

Neighborhood Profile
Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam
If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no further than urban Gangnam and the nearby neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a strictly business district with a plethora of high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and the steady streams of office workers bustling about. But interlaced within are a string of shops, restaurants, bars, and other spots for entertainment. If Myeongdong is the generic meet-up and hangout spot north of the Han River, Gangnam is its answer for those on the south side. As evening comes, Gangnam comes alive with its countless neon lights attracting hordes of office workers, friends, and couples for food, drinks, perhaps a bit of singing at a noraebang, and more drinks. And the smattering of clubs around also draws plenty of folks looking to unwind and show off their moves on the dance floor. On weekends, the crowds gets bigger, the energy buzzes to a seemingly nonstop high, and Gangnam makes it clear why so many call Seoul the city that never sleeps.
