We had a wonderful stay at this hanok. We were a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids and we stayed in the family room. It was spacious and clean and our private bathroom was only a few steps away. The breakfast was a real highlight for my kids. We stayed for 4 nights and had a different... More

It was an interesting experience staying at a traditional guesthouse. Really enjoyed our stay there! Not only was the room clean and tidy, the environment was nice and I love the rustic feeling. The owners were really friendly as they shared with us more about the korean culture. They can speak fluent Mandarin and it was nice having simple chats... More

Room was clean and nicely decorated with a good window view over the area since it is uphill. Although it is uphill, there is a bus that you can take from the station so it cuts down on the walking. Only realized it after walking up and down the hill though... Guesthouse owners were nice and friendly. They can also... More

We enjoyed our stay here in spite of no private bathroom as described and not being met for our late check in as arranged. The Hanok is otherwise pretty much as described on the website. But we are regular campers at home and in terms of sleep quality and space to relax that is way more comfortable.

Bukchon Maru Hanok is next to Choong Ang High School. If you are Fan of Winter Sonata this is the best location you can choose to stay. You can visit the high school to experience the Drama. The owner do not wake us up by using alarm or knocking of our door. They uses bell which make the stay a... More

The owners were very friendly people and helpful as well they could also speak mandarin. Did not converse to them in english so am not sure whether are... More

If you book the family room or any room for that matter don't have any expectations about the bathroom. This is a tiny little place on a steep hill with lots of stairs. The people are very nice but don't really speak English (only one person spoke very little English). Even if you book the family room, you really don't... More

We stayed one night in the family room. It was an intimate space with very nice inlaid wall unit and dresser. Ondol floor heating kept us cozy. Best experience was next morning with our hostess serving wonderful Korean breakfast and dining with us to talk about the food and Korea. We then dressed in traditional Hanbok clothes and took many... More

This is a traditional Korean house with all that implies, both positive and negative. The young couple who run are very keen on their job, full of energy and cheerful. Their real second language is Mandarin Chinese, bit the woman can speak careful simple English. My Japanese friend spoke to her in English without a problem. They have three rooms:... More

The owners were very nice and they speak good Mandarin! They have this interesting way of locking the wooden sliding doors. Can't say how; gotta go and try it. The breakfast was great. It rained the night before and woken up to hot yummy Korean breakfast was really satisfying. Great place to stay if you love the traditional stuffs. The... More
