As someone who is familiar with Seoul, this hotel is an absolute gem considering the quality of rooms/ service/ amenities you receive and the low price you're charge (around USD180/ night). The hotel has a pool, gym, and massage services as well as the standard dry cleaning and laundry services. The location may not seem convenient to most but the... More

The room is very clean and spacious filled with all your needs. All hotel staff are helpful and speaks English. Great location close to most central Seoul areas. Breakfast was ok but not great. Overall a very pleasant stay would recommend and stay again when I'm next in Korea.

I spent 6 nights at the Riviera while spending a week working in Seoul. I was mostly quite happy with the hotel and its location, but had just one consistent complaint. My room had A/C controls, but they were quite ineffective. Whatever I did, I was unable to get the room temperature down, so it was consistently 75-77 degrees F... More

This is a lovely hotel, comfortable, all mod cons, English speaking staff &, decent restaurants. Ideal for relaxing but the wrong side of the river for sightseeing in Seoul. There is not a lot around the hotel in the way of restaurants, markets etc. If you are there on business it's ideal if you want to sample Korean food, markets,... More

This is a very classic hotel, i like the decor and lobby. The design of the room is also quite nice. BUT... 1. The service was just so-so. I was at the fitness center, i asked for a locker key, the receptionist simply said, "it's not free!". i think she's quite rude. 2. The WIFI was not stable 3. The... More

Our family of four stayed here after having quickly moved from a family friend's apt which was not comfortable. It was such a pleasant and welcomed change. Room was clean and amenities suited our needs. They have a convenience store and restaurant close to the lobby but you can certainly walk within Gangnam and find the things you need...We would... I took my lady friend to Seoul over Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), and found what seemed like a great deal online with the Hotel Riviera. It was a good choice. It's located relatively close to the subway line (line 7, Cheongdong station I believe, exit 13). Just walk down the street for about five minutes and you'll find it. It's located... More

Very spacious rooms, nice and clean, hotel staff friendly and helpful, excellent facilities. Normally somewhat expensive, but a great deal can be caught and then it is worht it. The airport bus stop is in front of the hotel, so getting to Gimpo/Incheon airports is not a problem at all.

Staying in Apgujeong / Cheongdam

Neighborhood Profile
Apgujeong / Cheongdam
Aside from Sinsa / Garosugil, no other area in Seoul connotes the words “luxury” and “fancy” like Apgujeong and Cheongdam. Global luxury brands have set up their flagship stores here, catering to the neighborhood's mostly affluent residents. It’s also one of the top areas in Korea (some say the world) for cosmetic surgery, attracting hundreds of thousands each year for a little nip or tuck. The other parts of Apgujeong and Cheongdam are mostly lavish residential buildings for some of Seoul’s most affluent alongside extravagant restaurants, bars, spas, and other spots for indulgence. And Cheongdam has long been a bastion for flashy clubs and parties, though in recent years, Itaewon has emerged as a strong challenger to those claims.
