This is a lovely hotel, comfortable, all mod cons, English speaking staff &, decent restaurants. Ideal for relaxing but the wrong side of the river for sightseeing in Seoul. There is not a lot around the hotel in the way of restaurants, markets etc. If you are there on business it's ideal if you want to sample Korean food, markets,... More

This is a very classic hotel, i like the decor and lobby. The design of the room is also quite nice. BUT... 1. The service was just so-so. I was at the fitness center, i asked for a locker key, the receptionist simply said, "it's not free!". i think she's quite rude. 2. The WIFI was not stable 3. The... More

Our family of four stayed here after having quickly moved from a family friend's apt which was not comfortable. It was such a pleasant and welcomed change. Room was clean and amenities suited our needs. They have a convenience store and restaurant close to the lobby but you can certainly walk within Gangnam and find the things you need...We would... I took my lady friend to Seoul over Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), and found what seemed like a great deal online with the Hotel Riviera. It was a good choice. It's located relatively close to the subway line (line 7, Cheongdong station I believe, exit 13). Just walk down the street for about five minutes and you'll find it. It's located... More

Very spacious rooms, nice and clean, hotel staff friendly and helpful, excellent facilities. Normally somewhat expensive, but a great deal can be caught and then it is worht it. The airport bus stop is in front of the hotel, so getting to Gimpo/Incheon airports is not a problem at all.

good location downtown, but it is showing it's age and needs restoration. rooms where dark, air conditioning was inadequate, thermostat didn't work. I had to ask for an iron and board. Room service didn't clean the room properly. Food was average and expensive for the quality. breakfast was ok, average at best.

Rooms are kinda dim with the yellow lights, drinks, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and bathing foam need to pay if you use it. I don't understand why they can't provide it though. Shower curtain needs a change. Other than the above, the room is clean, comes with a bidget, not small, air con is cold and there is a 24 hours... More

Having spent more than a month in this hotel over the past five years, and there are good reasons to keep coming back. Near the COEX and the bars and restaurants along Apgujeong-ro, compared to some areas in Seoul, there is enough to do in the evenings around the hotel. Truly, the best thing about the hotel is the fitness... More

I flew in a few days early so I could do some site seeing. I picked the HR because it was not to far from the IHG where I would be staying for the remainder of my visit. Let's start with my check in. I had 4 bags with me, two of them were filled with gear for the meeting.... More

Staying in Apgujeong / Cheongdam

Neighborhood Profile
Apgujeong / Cheongdam
Aside from Sinsa / Garosugil, no other area in Seoul connotes the words “luxury” and “fancy” like Apgujeong and Cheongdam. Global luxury brands have set up their flagship stores here, catering to the neighborhood's mostly affluent residents. It’s also one of the top areas in Korea (some say the world) for cosmetic surgery, attracting hundreds of thousands each year for a little nip or tuck. The other parts of Apgujeong and Cheongdam are mostly lavish residential buildings for some of Seoul’s most affluent alongside extravagant restaurants, bars, spas, and other spots for indulgence. And Cheongdam has long been a bastion for flashy clubs and parties, though in recent years, Itaewon has emerged as a strong challenger to those claims.
