I travel to Seoul frequently, being involved in a major business there - SparkLabs Korea - and I stay at the Grand InterContinental Parnas Seoul. Always a great hotel. But last stay was outstanding. I had a bluetooth headphone set that I stupidly left on the floor of my room. Which I didn't know until I came back to the... More

Stayed recently for seven nights on business/pleasure trip. This hotel is luxurious, located in the heart of Gangnam Province in Seoul and within walking distance to a number of attractions as well as easy access to public transit. We had purchased a Gold Ambassador package prior to booking trip which included private check-in, room upgrade, Intercontinental lounge access and other... More

Can't beat the location for access to Seoul COEX conference facilities in the Gangnam area with prompt attentive service and first class rooms and facilities. Located right above a luxury shopping mall that runs for miles with terrific food outlets (much cheaper than eating in the hotel) and easy access to public transport/underground and direct bus to the airport from... To find a 5-Star hotel in Asia is as easy as tossing a stone, so to have high expectations for a stay at the Grand Intercontinental was very normal. The hotel facilities are spacious, luxurious, and excellently maintained. The staff are pitch perfect in balancing attentiveness with privacy. English fluency is very good, but not native. The gym and pool,... More

I stayed at Grand Intercontinental for two nights for Ultra Korea weekend and couldn't be happier with my decision. Here is the breakdown: Pros: + Location (close to COEX mall, two major subway lines, airport shuttle stops at hotel, great food options nearby) + Facilities (rooms were massive, very clean, and comfy) + Breakfast buffet (largest selection of international cuisine... Located in Gangnam area, next door to lovely Hyundai luxury shopping mall. Perfect and flawless service, polite, well trained and professional personnel. Had a room on 15th floor, large enough, very clean and fully equipped, great bathroom with separated shower and bath tub. Only thing I did not like were the inclined windows in that room: they were very dirty... More

A lovely, comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. I stayed for 4 nights for a long weekend of sightseeing in Seoul - location was perfect, very close to train station, shops, restaurants and walking distance to some sightseeing spots. The main reason I selected this hotel in addition to all the good reviews was because the airport transfer bus stopped... More

It was really cool. Connected by subway and CIEX mall. There is Buddhist temple nearby. Subway lune #2 connect every major tourist attractions. There is luxury department next door. There was food street from the hotel to the west just five minutes on foot (small two blocks). It is really convenient. Workers are very kind. It was perfect for tourist.... More

Overall a very average experience. Painless but unremarkable. Having to pay separately for wifi in your room is ridiculous in 2015, especially given the price of the rooms. I don't care if lots of hotels also do it. They shouldn't. A rip-off plain and simple. Speed was good though, as to be expected in Seoul. Very limited a la carte... More

Staying in Samseongdong / COEX

Neighborhood Profile
Samseongdong / COEX
A large business hub, Samseongdong is anchored by Korea’s World Trade Center, where many important business exhibitions and meetings are held. The enormous COEX mall sprawls underground, providing a myriad of things to do and see, including a large aquarium and movie theater. For a bit of peace and zen, head over to the ornate Bongeunsa Temple which is one of Korea’s most important places of worship. Or take a stroll nearby through the tranquil royal burial grounds of Seonjeongneung, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
