Good location right in the middle of Insadong. Suites vary greatly depending on which you are given. There are the newer renovated ones which are available which are well equipped and spacious. However, could do with a few touches to make it a little more 'homely' and less functional and 'cookie-cutter'. Staff are polite and helpful. I would give it... More

I just had 3 nights here exploring the Seoul for the first time. The location is ideal to access the main Insadong area and Bukchon on foot. There's plenty of life around and the hotel in a quiet hotel side street. However just be aware that the hotel (or suites) are pretty B-grade. They're perfectly functional and friendly staff. Just... Wonderful location! Many great places in Seoul are within walking distance, and the subway station is only a few minutes walk away. The hotel is in very safe area like most of places in Seoul. Room is very spacious, clean and well maintained.

Great location, beautiful rooms, clean, friendly and spacious. Stayed here for 3 nights with my extended family (we all had separate rooms which we were all equally happy with) and would definitely stay again.

This hotel has an excellent location in the Insadong area where you can shop for art and craft, Nearby is the Jonggak metro station and access to all of Seoul as well as hundreds of restaurants and bars. The hotel has large, comfortable rooms with lots of facilities, including a kitchen. Internet is available at cost (Won 15,000 per day)... More

Stayed here for one week and we really had a great time. A 1 bedroom apartment which has everything one needs. Nothing to complain about. And if I really want to be fussy : the lighting in the bathroom could have been better. If you want to have breakfast and if it's not included in the room rate you cannot... More

As a frequent traveller, you start to expect a certain level from a specifically starred hotel. Fraser Suites in Insadong, a four and a half star hotel of simplistic and comfy goodness, more than meets these needs. Conveniently located a mere 3 minutes walk from Jongro 3 station, which pretty good as a hub for the Seoul Metro. Originally, my... More

I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. Location is really nice and rooms offer good quality for the price. Breakfast is very simple and nothing special. Big drawback of the hotel that they told me at check-in that the hotel doesn't offer free internet and that the charge per day for the Internet is USD 15.

Very well situated for shopping and eating. Huge rooms and very clean. Staff all pleasant, attentive and always more than willing to help. I was a little disappoint in their breakfasts, but in the scheme of things this was only a tiny glitch. There is a 7 Eleven shop outside with a small range of foods. I enjoyed myself here,... More

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighborhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighborhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighborhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the center of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
