This hotel is a gem. I've stayed in alot of luxury hotels and five star hotels around the world and this is definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Staff are very helpful and couteous. Food is excellent. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. The hotel ground are magnificent. You simply cannot fault the Shilla. I will... more

I stayed here for 2 nights on a weekend getaway in April 09. Booked through the Leading Hotels of the World website, and if you joined as a member of LHW (which costs nothing anyway), you get all sorts of perks, such as room upgrade, late check-out, welcome gift, and a personal concierge, who was waiting when I arrived to... more

I have stayed in most hotel chains across Asia, and the Shilla is the most outstanding hotel in my opinion. I first was provided a room from family, and now only stay here when I go through Seoul. It is very, very hard to find bad service in Korea, however this hotel has the best service par none, anywhere in... more

I was here on business for 2 days. The service and attention was incredible. One of my colleagues was a Korean which made my stay very easy. I imagine it could be a tough city otherwise as cosmopolitan it is not! The hotel is clearly popular with wealthy local wives for lunch and afternoon tea which is a good sign.... more

went to Seoul with 3 friends for a 2 week sightseeing vacation. Our last week there we stayed at The Shilla (couldn't afford luxury the whole 2 weeks). wow what a hotel!! from the minute we arrived the service was unbelievable! opening car doors, carrying packages for you, opening doors, getting taxis, great shuttle service, amazing shopping, great concierge, friendly... more

My wife and stayed at the Shilla Hotel for 3 days at the end of a busy trip around Korea in early May, 2009. I was initially reluctant to spend a relatively high amount for a hotel in Korea as the motels are such incredibly good value, as are many of the smaller-non-flagship properties, but I wanted to finish the... more

We got to the hotel after a redeye flight and they tried to charge us 100,000 Won to check into our room, even though they said there were rooms immediately available. We politely asked the manager to waive the fee, and he said yes, so that was nice. The room was very small, but ok for a city hotel. The... more

Stayed there for 1 week in March and thought is was very good. Service is excellent, breakfast and sauna were fabulous, rooms were very decent although standard business hotel rooms. The only minor flaw is that, due to the hotel's location on the top of a hill, going to/from the subway or nearby restaurants requires a 10 minute walk up... more

Just outside the center of Seoul. An easy taxi ride to everything we wanted to see and do. The room was perfect, decent size but not over larger, and every amenity. They even give you a cell phone in your room to use at hotel rates. It had the best bed and pillows I've ever slept on!!! The concierge was... more
