Renaissance is nice as an old lady : gentle and subtile, very polite, and you feel so good with her for calm and peaceful times. Staff is very kind and efficient. Rooms, though clean, are a bit old style, would need some refreshing, especially at that level of price. Calm, with nice (but small) swimming pool, several good (though pricey)... More

Have stayed at the Renaissance Hotel several times previously on business. Service has always been excellent and I appreciate the morning shuttle service to our office location. This past trip, service went a bit beyond. On my departure, I was scheduled to take the limousine bus back to the airport, but the bus was running late. While I had planned... More

Dear Thomas, Thank you for your review of the Renaissance Seoul hotel. Richard happily drove you to the airport and thank you for mentioning this, as he had not told me about it. It fills us with pride that our staff would do that in their own time and without hesitation; and without looking for recognition. Safe travels and we... More

Great first impression with huge lobby, nice restaurant and lounge. I did a mobile check from Inchon Airport with the prescribed 2 hour lead time. My room wasn't ready when I checked in and was told it takes 4 hours not two. My room was a let down. Carpet was pretty old and faded. Furniture was ok. I always stay... More

Everytime a pleasure staying in this nice hotel. By beeing a member of Marriotts I could avoid staying in the queue. Beeing wellcome with a nice cup of tea - simply great. The pageboy carried my luggage into the room and was so kind to help me with the wifi access. Complimantaries are great. One of the best hotels I... More

Hotel is well maintained, room was comfortable and clean. Warm welcome from reception during check in, commendable service. We had a great rest on the comfy bed. Location was convenient from the airport with the bus stop right outside the hotel.

Quite centrally located in the Gangnam area. Check in was fast despite the reception was a bit cold. Room was of average size and the 90's styling was clearly outdated. Everything was clean though and very generous on in-room amenities. Free Wifi for Marriott Rewards members. Good breakfast buffet selection and staff very efficient. The indoor swimming pool was a... On the plus side, the staff were friendly, the lobby is nice, the breakfast buffet was fine (not the best I have had by any means, but good enough) and the hotel location is good, including being on one of the airport bus routes. However the room was small, looked like it had not been updated in 15 or 20... More

I stay at Marriott hotels over 100 nights in a typical year. This is my favorite based on exceptional customer service. The proximity to the Seoul Arts Center and Bongeunsa Temple makes it a fine location for me. Concierge desk is outstanding. I have yet to come up with a query they can not resolve. Very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

The Renaissance has quite a central location in the Gangnam area, and is within walking distance to the Gangnam center for nightlife, entertainment, and food. Distance from the airport is quite challenging, and I highly recommend taking the subway and allotting about two hours travel time to Incheon, less for Gimpo. Hotel service was exceptional, and they are very friendly... More

Dear Keithvan, Thank you for your review of the Renaissance Seoul hotel and of Seoul, it will be well received by our teams. Staying in Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam

Neighborhood Profile
Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam
If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no further than urban Gangnam and the nearby neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a strictly business district with a plethora of high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and the steady streams of office workers bustling about. But interlaced within are a string of shops, restaurants, bars, and other spots for entertainment. If Myeongdong is the generic meet-up and hangout spot north of the Han River, Gangnam is its answer for those on the south side. As evening comes, Gangnam comes alive with its countless neon lights attracting hordes of office workers, friends, and couples for food, drinks, perhaps a bit of singing at a noraebang, and more drinks. And the smattering of clubs around also draws plenty of folks looking to unwind and show off their moves on the dance floor. On weekends, the crowds gets bigger, the energy buzzes to a seemingly nonstop high, and Gangnam makes it clear why so many call Seoul the city that never sleeps.
