Clean rooms, very friendly staff, highly recommended . Free wifi. A lot of restaurants just near the hotel including Starbucks and McDonald's. Turn to front desk to take the hotel address in Korean - most of the drivers don't speak Englidh.

The hotel is quite aged, the rooms look like they are from 70's. yet the hotel offers everything one needs. Location is great and gives easy access to Gangnam. Also airport bus stops there. Staff is friendly and courteous. I stayed there a few times and always good.

If you're heading to Gangnam for business, this is a great place to stay. And, let's face it -- the only reason that you'd want to stay in Gangnam is for business. It's not exactly a tourist area. In fact, walking down the street, I was the only caucasian around! The hotel is over 20 years old, but is in... More

Dear Fermax, Thank you for your complete review of the Renaissance Seoul Hotel. It is nice to have a few treats at breakfast – great to read you enjoyed the bread and butter pudding. We are well located for business and to discover something new, as you mentioned; the streets behind the hotel are full of things to discover. I... More

Fantastic comfort and convenience. Breakfast buffet available at 6:00 am. Limousine bus to airport at the door. Room was luxurious and bed sublime. I stay at this hotel whenever I have the chance in Seoul.

I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights for business. The room was large, clean, with free bottled water, a kettle for making tea and coffee, an iron and ironing board, proper wooden hangers, comfortable bed, great breakfast buffet. I would not recommend it for tourists as it is in the Gangnam business area.

Dear Spiceylife, Thank you for your review of the Renaissance Seoul Hotel. After a week with us you would know us well – wooden hangers are nice aren’t they? Breakfast is a very important part of the day – thank you for your comments. Did you try the ever changing Eggs Benedict? The Korean version with pork belly and kimchi... More

We have stayed in many Marriott as well as other hotels over the years and our stay here comes close to the best ever. First and foremost the staff sets a whole new level in service- from writing out all directions forl where we wanted to go in Korean to correcting, on their own , a two dollar overcharge at... More

I have stayed here on a number of occasions and the experience has always been positive. This stay is the exception. Most of the hotel restaurants are closed despite constant ad6vertizing. The Club Lounge is closed for the summer which means breakfast in the main buffet restaurant and not a good experience. Evening cocktail hour is sandwiched into the bar... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your review of the Renaissance Seoul Hotel and your ongoing support which is much appeciated. Some of our restaurants have changed operation hours, the club lounge had temporarily been relocated to the Trevi Lounge at the ground floor level and all offerings to our members have remained unchanged. Very well maintained hotel with friendly staff. The hotel staff all try to make your hotel as comfortable as possible. The rooms are good quality and kept in excellent condition. The downside is the hotels age, so in the room there a shortage of power outlets for the modern age ( smartphones / tablets / laptops / personal router ),... More

Dear Jonathan F, Thank you for your review of the Renaissance Seoul Hotel. The team will really appreciate your kind words of praise (especially our hard working engineers!). Stayed at the Renaissance recently for a business trip. The location is quite convenient for any of the offices in the nearby Gangnam district- about a 20 minute walk from the main strip of all Gangnam nightlife. I had an easy time checking in and out of the hotel- and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. To go... More

Dear Jeff, Thank you for your review of the Renaissance Seoul Hotel. You made some great points and tips for our guests, always good to pre-book breakfast (or part of a package) and there is a great airport limousine (high end bus) with wifi and large seats that makes the trip from the airport very comfortable (USD$14’ish). Always good to... More

To be honest, I was a bit worried about this stay given all the reviews talking about an old, dated hotel in need for a complete refurb. I don't think I agree with this after staying there for 6 nights recently with my wife. Service was overall great with few exceptions. It all started with pre-arrival Emails a week before... More

Staying in Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam

Neighborhood Profile
Gangnam / Nonhyeon / Yeoksam
If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no further than urban Gangnam and the nearby neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a strictly business district with a plethora of high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and the steady streams of office workers bustling about. But interlaced within are a string of shops, restaurants, bars, and other spots for entertainment. If Myeongdong is the generic meet-up and hangout spot north of the Han River, Gangnam is its answer for those on the south side. As evening comes, Gangnam comes alive with its countless neon lights attracting hordes of office workers, friends, and couples for food, drinks, perhaps a bit of singing at a noraebang, and more drinks. And the smattering of clubs around also draws plenty of folks looking to unwind and show off their moves on the dance floor. On weekends, the crowds gets bigger, the energy buzzes to a seemingly nonstop high, and Gangnam makes it clear why so many call Seoul the city that never sleeps.
