Email booking responses were slow and they confused the booking (I'm sure they didn't read all my email). Called but it doesn't accept oversea call. We still gave it a try as the comments pretty good and we would like the cultural experience. When we arrived, the location pretty hard to find, then we need to look around for the... More

Dear, Justine Thanks for reviewing. I am really apologized about your inconvienience. And I was really embarrased about your review as well. Email booking responses were slow and they confused the booking (I'm sure they didn't read all my email). ->I felt sorry about your inconvience, however I am sure that I didn't make the booking confused. I didn't make... More

My stay was very enjoyable. As an independent traveller it was good to be asked to participate in activities but not be expected to go. The building felt very authentic (which was my reason for staying), however i would suggest a few improvements. 1. The Kitchen smelt badly of fish for almost my entire stay, may I suggest deodorising or... More

More

We chose this place because we want to experience staying in a Hanok and definitely worth it although I cannot imagine living in a Hanok during winter. The room is small but warm and homey. There was no bed, just the usual comforter as seen in KDrama. I definitely want to stay longer if only the price is within my... More

This was our second Hanok experience in the same area, both prebooked before we left home. We stayed in Pine 1 at about $134AUD per night. It is about 12m square with just enough room for a very old single bed (no bedding), the floor sleeping "double" bedding (like two doonas) and our two bags. Our designated bathroom was reached... What ever country you are in, you need to experience the tradition of that country and at Moon guest house is the best place to start. Excellent location for shopping and visiting many of the attractions that Seoul has to offer. The rooms are very traditional, shoes off before you enter the main living area, which lends itself to being... More

This is near Anguk Station, very awesome, you get to eat a sticky dessert, tea, and unlike other tea ceremonies, you get to prepare the tea you are going to drink yourself, and you get to wear Hanbok! You can even choose what headdress you would like to wear, by drinking tea you also get to sit like what they... More

Staying in Samcheongdong / Bukchon

Neighborhood Profile
Samcheongdong / Bukchon
This historic neighborhood was traditionally home to Seoul’s middle and upper-classes. Now it’s most famed for its clusters of beautiful, traditional Korean homes (called hanok), many of which are found in Bukchon. Many of these homes have now been converted into restaurants, cafes, shops, and even guesthouses, and their unique architecture offers a look at Korea’s traditional beauty. Samcheongdong’s main and side streets attract locals and tourists alike for their quaint and charming scenery, while the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae) serves as the residence for South Korea’s president. Art fans will love exploring the many independent and private art galleries in the area.
