The good The location in Myeongdong is excellent. Especially if you like to shop as MD is one the premier shopping areas in Seoul filled with stores, cafes, and restaurants. The green line subway is nearby and the blue line is not far. The hotel itself is a solid three and a half stars with all that entails. Decent sized... More

We stayed in this hotel for more than 5 nights and good thing it was in the heart of Myeongdong. It's easy access to all kinds of restaurants and shops too. Night markets and street foods are also readily available within 3 minute walk. Very accessible. The only downside is that sometimes, cab drivers have a hard time looking for... More

Read abt the small room size from Tripadvisor but was still appalled when we saw our corner Double+Single room. There is no space to lay out our luggages and we had to open one, close it, put it upright, before we can open another one. The bed is next to the wardrobe with no walking space between at all. Although... More

Came here for a week, supposed to be a special trip. They gave us room 1021, 1121 and 1103. All of these cannot make it. All x021 rooms have a huge pillar in the middle of the room! No place to put the luggage. At least the aircon is working cause 1103 doesn't. As of now, its 26.6 deg and... More

Nice hotel, in a lively and exciting neighborhood, a few steps from Enjiro1gil metro and a few more from Seoul City Hall and Dyeokbokkung. (Ignore Google Maps, which recommends Enjiro3gil metro, quite a distance...). Very friendly staff, nice room, very quiet, in spite of the lively crowds in the street at night. US/Japan and also EU standard plugs for recharging... More

The title says it all. There is certainly one thing that I didn't like, ... the available space in the room to sit down working (computer) or just watching TV. Only one little chair with no back support, but ... two beds (for three people)!! My room was not ready when I arrive mid afternoon. Hence, they wanted to be... More

I stayed there for 5 nights. The first night we check-in late at night, so they offered us a very tiny small room with strong smoke smell, there is a fake window, no view at all. It's too small to open our luggages(we're two girls), the air con is quite unstable, sometimes hot and sometimes cold, so we both got... More

1) Good Location and convenient 2) Hotel staffs very helpful and polite 3) Room have smoke smell 4) Toileteries should have 4 sets instead of 3 sets since this is a 4 beded room 5) Provide some hooks or hangers in the toilet for hanging clothings (the glass door toilet)

Reasonable price in a great location in downtown Seoul, close to shops, transport, restaurants and main attractions. Room was generally clean and comfortable. However, although the climate control was reasonable, I was very uncomfortable in bed at night because the only bedding provided was an extremely thick feather duvet. I asked for a blanket but none were available. I had... More

I've stayed in camp dormitories which had more space per person than this room had. We had a 3 bedder which we were told was the only 3 bedder in the hotel. Based on the floor plan stuck on the back of the door, it is the same size as a 2 bedder. So small that the door had to... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighborhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighborhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighborhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighborhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
