The Pluses - The room is decently priced and sized. Hotel is walking distance from four train stations on three different lines (City Hall, Euljiro 1-ga, Hoehyeon and Myeongdong), and is a 3-min walk from the Incheon Airport Limo Bus stop at Namdaemun - the main reasons why I chose the hotel. Each bathroom comes equipped with a jacuzzi bathtub.... More

The hotel is located near Namdaemun market and is only 5 minutes away from the City Hall train station. It's convenient, with lots of shops, restaurants and bars near by. The atmosphere at night is very different from the day time. Late night food stalls are right in the alley of the hotel and are great for experiencing local Korean... More

The hotel is located in a lane right across the Namedaemun market (exit 2). It's 5 mins walk to City Hall station and around 8 mins to Hyeon station (coz u need to go through the hectic market, try to avoid this station if you have heavy luggage). There are also quite a number of restaurants/cafe nearby but not so... More

Good enough for a budget, Location is quite ok, in the middle of seoul and in a small alley. But the room is really dark and the bathroom needs more light. The room is clean enough but the bed doesn't seem to be that clean. It itches when i sleep on it. Luckily, it was winter so i had long... More

Was not expecting much to begin with given the budget and hotel type. However we had hoped for at least a clean, relatively well maintained place with the basics intact. The hotel's general location was great, right in the middle of Seoul, but it was in a bit of a dodgy alley, decent enough in the day but gets rowdy... More

We stay at this hotel on our family vacation in April 2013. My eleven Years old twins an two years daughter really love this hotel. The hotel was located at the center of Seoul. The price was reasonable. We booked for 5 nights excluding breakfast. The hotel near to Namdaemun market and just 5 minutes walk to Dongdaemun. The nearest... More

The photos make this hotel look decent but in reality it was horrible. The rooms were both sterile and the layout was awful. The dining room if you can call it that was in the basement in a awful state. We will never go back again.

Good thing in staying in this hotel, price is affordable. Near the train station and the shopping area. Room was fine. The only inconvenient was no towel racks. We stayed for 4 nights and not a good thing for travellers. Room was quite spacious though. Bathroom was too dark. No mirrors in the bedroom area. Overall, it was okay. Like... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighborhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighborhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighborhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighborhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
