We stayed 4 nights at this hotel in november 2014. The staff and owner (who makes breakfast for us) are really excellent. When I told them I didn't eat pork, they created a special meal for me, super. My wife got ill one day and they did everything to help us, we appreciate that very much. The hotels location is superb,walking... More

I have no hesitation in recommending the Daewoo Inn. It has a great location, and is close to the subway. The room I had was compact, but was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed. I endorse others' comments on the breakfast which was excellent, and much more varied and tasty than breakfasts I had in 3 and 4 star... More

The hotel is easily accessible by airport bus if you are coming from Incheon airport, the bus will stops at The Plaza hotel & just a 5 - 10 mins walk to the hotel. The owner will send you an instruction to reach the hotel before your arrival. The hotel is close to City Hall station & Myeondong, both around... More

Traditional Korean-styled bedrooms but with beds, Daewoo inn is clean and comfortable. Though only a 3-star hotel, they have 5-star breakfast included every morning as long as you wake up between 8-9.30am. The friendly owner cooks authentic Korean food like bibimbap, jeon, kimbap etc. but there's also a selection of bread, ham and cheese, cereal and juice. The manager speaks... More

Perfect location right in the heart of the city, quiet and clean rooms, fast free wifi. And hotel staff is very friendly and extremely helpful especially Mr.Kim . There is a subway station few minutes away and airport shuttle bus station which makes it easy to get around the city. Opposite hotel there is 7/11 shop and many restaurants. The... More

The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from City Hall station, rooms are clean, but a bit small. They serve really nice breakfast in the morning, both european and korean ones. The staff is really nice, they even gave us an umbrella as a present

Nice little motel, has a nice infrastructure with warm rooms and free wifi in all floors. Kinda hard to find, but worth it for it's value and location near a metro station, city hall and myeongdong. Included breakfast was also nice.

This place was newly renovated because it looked nothing like those in the pictures (the ones on the other site: Booking are more updated). --------------------------------- ROOM and BATHROOM: Sufficient space for two luggages along with the comfortable bed and television. Very nicely heated and insulated so we were warm the entire trip, plus we can't hear anything from the other... More

We choosed this cheap hotel in Seoul because of its location - which is really great. I think for one night stay, if you want only sleep - it is OK. We ordered 3 nights, but leave after first night. Room was very small and shower was practically above toilet. Whole room didn't look so bad, but in detail view,... More

Should have known it was too cheap and in too convenient a location. We originally booked for 4 nights and left after 1. Tiny dingy room that was reached only after lugging our bags up many stairs (no elevator). One old thin blanket and old thin pillows. Mattress super hard, small for 2 people and could feel the springs. TIny... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighborhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighborhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighborhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighborhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
